No ink cartridge holder for my cannon bubble jet jc85? Cannot place color ink cartridge without this piece.

try holding it down with a bent paper clip, otherwise, without costly replacement parts(th moving head assembly) it isn't practical...

Refilling HP color printer ink cartridges saves money and time spent running to the store to find the right ink cartridge, which sometimes is out of stock. By having the refill kits for the HP ink cartridge, you can just refill the cartridge when the ink runs out. The refilling process is easy to do and anyone can do it in a few minutes. The ink kits come with directions and all the colors one will need to refill the ink cartridge.

1.Place a piece of paper towel on a flat surface. Remove the empty ink cartridge from the printer. To do this, open the cover and wait for the ink dispenser to move the ink to the open door. Lift up the tap that holds the ink cartridge in place and pull out the cartridge. Push the tap holder back down and close the cover.
2.Place the ink cartridge on the paper towel. Gather the ink refilling kit together with directions and place the ink jars on the paper towel along with the syringe needle.
3.Find the indents on the top of the empty ink cartridge. Poke these holes open with the pen. Sit the cartridge down and open the ink containers. The colors are yellow, cyan and magenta.
4.Read the directions to see where each color goes in the ink cartridge. Insert the syringe needle into the ink container and raise the stopper up until you have the recommended amount of ink to fill into the particular hole.
5.Insert the needle into the hole on the ink cartridge and slowly dispense it into the cartridge. Remember to go slow with this step. If you see the ink oozing out, stop filling and wipe with a paper towel.
6.Cover the holes with the tabs that come in the refill kit or you can use tape. Make sure the hole is sealed to prevent spilling or the ink drying up. Then replace the ink cartridge back into the holder in the printer.

Check the cyan ink supply line for air bubbles. These printers work off negative pressure between the print head and the ink supply. If there are bubbles in the line the negative pressure is disrupted and ink cannot flow through the print head.

Cannon printers usally the ink is housed underneath the top portion of the printer. To open the top, reach down under the buttons or display area,, and left up, a blue plastic piece will slide out and lock the top into place. Once that up, look inside and the ink cartridge will eventually slide over to the left side of the printer. Look left towards the silver bar and you'll see two plastic holders for the ink. Take the ink cartridge out, by pushing down on the top edge of the cartridge, then out. To replace them, remember to remove the protective seal on the ink cartridge and put the ink cartridge in by holding the ink cartridge at an angle that has the copper control slip pointing upwards. Make sure you put it in below the top ridge of the plastic holders. Then once you slip the cartridge into the holder at the upwards angle, pull up again on the cartridge to snap it into place. That's it your ink cartridge are reset with new ink.

To solve the printing problem..

# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel. # Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right). # Continue doing this until it looks clean. # Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing. # Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.
1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier. 2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.
# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

Epson printers contain a permanent print head that needs to be charged with all colors to work. Even when users are printing black text only, a small amount of color ink is used to keep the print head charged for color printing and prevent air bubbles from entering the color print nozzles which can damage the print head. Therefore, once one of the cartridges are expended, the printer signals you to replace the cartridge in order for printing to continue.

I don't know if this will work on an Epson, but it does on Cannon. The pads on the cartridges or the ink jets in the printer head may be cloged with dry ink. Get some Q-tips and rubbing alcohol (water is a poor substitute). Take out the ink cartridges and touch the pad on the bottom with a Q-tip (one for each color). If there is color the cartridge pad is OK. Take a fresh Q-tip dip it in rubbing alcohol and GENTLY rub the little holes on the bottom of the plastic box the cartridges go in. Thse are the print head jets. You should see color. You may need to clean it a couple of times if the ink has dried down into the jets. It is OK to have the Q-tip pretty wet, but not dripping.

Remove the right ink cartridge (color). You will get an error saying the cartridge is empty, but ignore that. Hit cancel on your printer. Print your job...when your print screen comes up, under preferences check the box for print colors in black and white. Your printer should print just fine without the color cartridge. Ignore the flashing red light.
