A print spooler is something that stores your file to be printed, and feeds(spools) it to the printer a little at a time, as the printer says its ready to receive more. These were very important before the mfrs started adding some memory to printers.
if its a necessary step in your system that the file passes thru enroute to the printer, ya gotta have it up and running.
Solutions--
A. Save your file and reboot the system. The spooler should start when your system does.
B. If not, then download the latest version of your printer driver from the mfr website. Install the new version. It will include the spooler.

Where i could see the printer spooler?
I open the run command you can type: net start spooler
(You will get a message that says the print spooler service has started)
If you still have issues open the run command and type: services.msc
it will display a list, where you can find print spooler.

From there you can right-click on it and set it so it is started and runs automatically.

to stop the print spooler do this . Start ---Run----type Services.msc, it will open the services box there find for print spooler , open it and slick Stop button to stop and start to start.

It could be the Print Spooler service on your computer. Make sure the service is running. - Browse to Start -> Run... and type in "NET STOP SPOOLER" (this will stop the print spooler service)


- type in "NET START SPOOLER" (this will restart the print spooler service)
Try to print again.

you need to turn it on, Go, . START>>RUN>>services.msc enter. When the services screen comes up, scroll down until you find the "Print Spooler" Enable it, Start it, and set to Automatic, reboot, ya good to go.

My print spooler is not running
If you are getting a message that your print spooler service is not running, possibly you have the print spooler service turned off.

To start the print spooler service in XP:

Click on Start
Click on Run
Type "services.msc" and hit Enter or press OK
In the services window look for "print spooler service"

Click on the Print spooler and on the top left corner Click on "Start"

Reboot the computer. You should be able to print now.

Spooling problem
The print spooler stop. This is the meaning of the message. What you can do is to restart the print spooler. Here's how:

Start >Run > type "services.msc" (w/o quotes) > click on Print Spooler.

Then you will see the word "Print Spooler" on the upper-left and you will see "Stop the service" and "Restart the service". Click on Restart the service and then close the window.

Try printing again.

The print spooler service is not running.
Reinstall the printer drivers will shore it up quickly the spooler has to do with the printer so do that and you should be fine.

Tried to install new printer model#PIXMA MX310" received an error message "processing cannot be completed because the Print Spooler service has been stopped"
Ok what that means is you need to re-enable the printer spooler service on the computer, below are the directions to do so

  1. Hit the "Start" button
  2. Hit "run"
  3. In the run box type "services.msc"
  4. Hit "Enter"
  5. A box will come up with all of the services , scroll down to "Print Spooler"
  6. RIght click on "Print Spooler" and hit "Restart"
  7. Right click on it again and hit "Properties"
  8. In the middle is a drop-down box that says "Startup Type" , select "Automatic"
That should fix you right up!

Printer Spooler service!
1) Click the Star>Run, type in "Services.msc" in the Run dialog box.
2) A services window popup, find the service name "Print Spooler", double it and change the Service Status to "Start".

Now u can use your printer now.

Printers vanished and can't add printer
Your shell extensions have a software conflict. The offending piece of software will have to be determined and removed, or at least stopped, before re-booting the computer. You may be able to repair the problem using the System Restore option.
