My problem with the cx5500 is installing/changing cartridges EVERY time. Most times printer does not recognise new cartridge or only 1 0r 2 but never all 4 even tho all are new. And when it recognises, a full new cartridge shows half empty??! Have tried using resetter but still same. Now printer can't print cos shows no ink in cartridge... PLEASE help!! Thank You
They are proper mardy machines only happy when using original epson cartridges

There is 4 buttons on the left hand side of the unit, these are for copying only. the scanning component of you printer is software driven. You will need to have setup the Epson scanning utilities on your computer. These came with the printer when you purchased it, however are also available for download from Epson in your country / region. Just go to www.epson.com and select your country and download the scanning utilities for your printer.

I think your question is incorrect.
What I think was the error message was CARTRIDGE is incompatible.
How do I know this? Because it happened to me recently!
Also, I do not believe any printer yet made has the ability to pick and choose ink!
