Many ice makers have an ice level sensor (mine is just a piece of wire that is supposed to lift up as the ice is dumped into the bin and then come to rest on the top of the ice) the purpose is to shut off the ice maker when the bin is full.

Occasionally, mine will get stuck in between some ice cubes and not lift up.

break up the ice cubes and free up the wire (if there is one) then it should work

Fghb2844lf1 ice machine is not work

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the ice maker in your Frigidaire refrigerator, model# FGHB2844LF1, is not producing ice. I suggest turning your ice maker off and taking out the ice tray and dumping any ice that is in the tray. Wait 3-4 hours. Dry the tray out and put it back into position. Turn the ice maker back on. It will take anywhere from 2-3 hours for ice to produce. If your refrigerator is still not producing ice, please feel free to reconnect. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Ice maker not making ice. do have water, no ice

The ice maker has a problem The ice maker is a separate appliance within the freezer section. Please see the How things Work section of our website to learn about the normal functioning of ice makers. Some common problems with ice makers are:

The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice
The ice maker is producing ice poorly
The ice maker has completely stopped producing ice Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on. On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice. Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

The ice maker is producing ice poorly When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

We have a Whirlpool K40 Ice Maker but it seems to have stopped producing ice. The motor is running but there is no water coming into the machine & therefore no ice is being frozen & cut by the...

a few things to check, first off is adequate water supply(obviously).. next check your drain system, if your unit gravity drains look for a blockage, but if you have a secondary drain pump to pump away water check for proper operation, if that pump fails the machine will no longer let water in( thinks it full and no need to produce more ice if it cant get rid of old water
