Washer stops with 'LE'

My Tromm WM0532HW stops a wash cycle with a flashing "LE"
I do not have the manual, so I don't know what is wrong to fix it.
Please advise.

My washing machine LG Tromm won't start. Screen flashes Te on it. I have no manual.

  • Michelle4d May 27, 2008

My LG Tromm has a flashing OE and won't spin. The door stays locked, and I have tried turning the machine off and on to get the lock to unlock so I can take out the blanet and even out the load (in case of out of balance), but no go, what should I do?

I lost the manual to a minor flooding that happened when we were installing the machine 6 months ago.

will not fill with water, gives "LE" error. what do you suggest?

  • Anonymous Jun 30, 2008

wm0532hw fault code of "LE" control and drain pump has been replaced

  • rhunt506 Jul 02, 2008

The water will run in but the machine will not spin. Then LE flashes. If I put it on no spin it will get rid of the water.

I unplugged it for 30 minutes, turned it on and didn't press any cycle and chose no spin and start. Then I turned on rinse and spin cycle. It still will not spin and LE flashes.

I am also getting an "LE" reading and the machine. My machine just started having this issue today.I had just finished a load and was about to start another. I loaded the machine as usual and closed the door. All of the lights are on and when I press the start button,it clicks the door to lock and then the LE reading appears. It started to fill with water and then it stopped.

I Have the same exact problem.. it keeps on flashing LE and  i really need help!!

  • bamusical Feb 04, 2009

Restarting it and resetting the washer by holding the power button for two seconds solved the problem for me.

I was getting an LE error everytime I tried to do a load. I came to the internet and googled "le error lg washer", which brought me to this website. The solution that seems to have solved my problem was listed on the page. A lot cheaper than calling out a tech!

Most likely lack of flow in drain water. Pump inlet could be restricted. I'm guessing it must be sudding up in the rinse cycle and shuts down when it spins up... This is from all the water in the tub.

1. pull the access door on the lower left. You will need a blade (flat) head screw driver for this.

2. You should see a hose. and a knob. Get a small bucket, or 1L soda bottle. Pinch the hose, pull the cap and let the hose drain the water. You might have to pinch the hose and cap it if your bucket gets too full so you can empty it. If you skip this and just open the pump trap, be ready for water to come out, unless it is the inlet port of the pump housing that is blocked

3. After the water is out, you can open the knob for the trap to the pump housing.

4. Make sure the trap is clean. If it isn't, then this is most likely your problem. If it's clean then you want to look into the pump housing before putting the trap back in. Use a flash light. I found a bottle cap ontime holding back the water, when i pushed it water came gushing out.

5. If you can't see a block from this method, either of the follow could be the problem.

A. Pump motor not working or power not starting the pump motor.
B. inlet or outlet hose have a major restriction or blocked.

In this case it will come down to fixing it yourself or calling someone.

I have an LG 1815CS that has had this problem twice in the past year. The solution is to reset the motor as follows:

1. Un-plug the machine
2. Press and hold the Start button for at least 2 seconds
3. Plug the machine
4. Wash clothes :-)

I have the same problem with my washer machine. Use the free web link below to troubleshoot your problem. I narrowed my machine down to two faults. Stator Assy or Main PWB Assy. Good luck

LG Tromm wm1814cw LE flashing on digital display,

Here are few troubleshooting tips that i have found. If you acquire further assistance please let me know...

Is this a new installation?
In new installations, this error can sometimes present because of a miscommunication between the control panel and the wash motor. In this instance, the washer simply needs to be reset.
Step 1: Unplug the washing machine.
Step 2: While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for 5 seconds.
Step 3: Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the LE code is cleared.
Are there soap suds visible in the drum?
Over-sudsing is the main cause of LE error codes. Using non-HE (high efficiency) detergents or too much detergent will cause stress on the motor. In addition, detergent residue can also cause leaking and odor. Follow these steps to resolved an LE error code caused by over-sudsing.
Step 1: Unplug the washer and allow the unit to sit for 30 minutes to give the suds time to dissolve.
Step 2: Plug the washer back in and press [Power] to turn on the washer.
Step 3: Do not choose a washing cycle. Press the [Spin Speed] key until "No Spin" is selected.
Step 4: Press [Start/Pause] to begin a drain only cycle.
Step 5: After the drain only cycle has completed, remove the clothing items from the machine. Turn the power back on and select [Rinse and Spin] and then press [Start/Pause]. This will remove excess soap suds and light residue from the drum. Repeat this step until no visible suds are in the drum of the washer.

Has a large load size been used with a gentle wash setting?
Gentle wash cycles such as Perm Press, Delicates, Hand Wash, and Wool/Silk should only be used for smaller loads. Because the cycles are more gentle while tumbling and spinning, too many items in the drum can register as an issue with the motor. In this instance reset the unit and run a test rinse and spin cycle.

Has the washer been overloaded?
Single bulky items or large loads can add extra weight to the drum and place stress on the motor. Remove some of the clothing and restart. If the issue is still present after a few items have been removed, unplug the washer for 30 minutes to allow the motor to cool and then restart the cycle.

Washer

Greetings jannd,

The message "LE" can indicate that the thermal overload protection circuit in the motor has been tripped. The remedy for this can be to allow the washer to stand for 30 minutes to allow the motor to cool, then restart the cycle. If the LE error code still appears, unplug the washer and call for service. Keep in mind that this unit carries a 7 year warranty on the motor also.

I hope this helps!
Best regards,

Dorothy
