Camera turns on. There is light on the rear screen but no picture.

The camera at the rear end is not feeding video back to your screen or the screen is dead.

Turn on the camera and press the DISP button and see the result.

It seems problem with low screen voltage to three picture tubes in this rear projection tv.
If standby light blinks 5 times after three seconds long pause then adjust screen volts of each picture tube to solve this issue.
Screen volt adjustment requires expertise and job of professional so please call local tv repairman to help you.

It is problem of lcd screen that will be replaced to get correct picture view.
Local camera repair shop will replace it or if you have expertise then can replace lcd screen by yourself.

Go to "Menu">"Settings" then it should be there.

I had this happen when my sd card was damaged when the battery compartment cover was bumped and opened when the camera was in the process of saving a picture. Remove your sd card and then see if you can bring the camera up and take a couple of pictures using the camera memory only. If you can do this, then buy a new sd card. What ever is on the damaged card may be lost

I have Fuji FinePix 2650 Digital camera with same problem. I can almost guarantee this is not a firmware problem. I went mountain biking a few months ago and take pictures. I take out camera and turn on. I get lines then white screen. I banged on camera and fixed it. Later a few weeks ago I turn it on and white screen. i beat this thing and get bad menu selection screen for a moment then white again. It takes pictures well and talk to computer no problem but no LCD picture. I thinking it is loose connection for LCD. Send it for repair or if you seek adventure try to fix it yourself!

You could be suffering from a frozen Iris. This is the part of the lens which varies the amount of light entering the camera. Or the lens cover may not be opening when you switch on. Have you tried pushing the middle button of the 3 which run vertically on the rear of the camera below the mode switch. I had one on my bench a few weeks back which had an intermittent black screen. It started of as black and when I stripped it, cleaned all contacts and put it back together it the flashed on and off. I then stripped it again and went over every cable associated with the lens, CCD and video board checking them for breaks and recleaning them and bingo, everything came good. I have another 72 at the moment with a similar problem, I fixed the same way but got left with lines running across the picture. P72's aren't the best cameras picture wise and are close to the most troublesome, at least around here. For any of the above faults I'd recommend a visit to your local tech. Good luck. BMW
