Hello im fixing a freinds junk emachines t3604 that crashed and would not boot windows vista, it would bring up the safe mode option screen and would just show a blank screen with blinking curser on the top left side. after runing some test i confirmed the registry was completely currupt so i did a clean install of vista. she did not give me a driver disk. after windows booted right up but the computer will not connect to the internet. i looked through the device manager and noticed the pci simple com controller was missing. where can i find this so i can download it to a usb stick then put it into her computer? emachines web site was no help. thank you

That system has an Intel network controller, so you should be able to find the driver for it on the Intel support site: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support?iid=gg_work+home_support_downloads

But the link on the eMachines support site should also work: http://downloads.emachines.com/drivers/network/Intel_Network_9_6_31_0.zip
(it is a 84 MB download!)

How do i change boot order on emachine t3604

You will need to change the boot order in the bios set-up.
Turn your computer off, and turn it n again (alternatively Restart it) These things may be initiated by clicking the Windows button at the bottom left of tour screen, and from the shut down drop down menu selecting the appropriate option) As your computer is starting up, and the Emachines logo appears on the screen
"Press the "Tab" key repetitatively: If that fails to take you into the BIOSsetup, repeat and try either the "Escape," "Delete," or "F2" keys instead of the Tab key.
Once in the BIOS setu[p, Look through the options until see Boot order, and then change that to CD first, HD 2nd. Exit the BIOS setup with save changes option. Done.

I ONLY GET A BLUE SCREEN ON HP LAPTOP HOW DO I FIX IT

Hi,
Basically Your computer crashed. First of all try to get into safe mode by pressing the F-8 Key before your computer has a chance to windows has a chance to boot.

It should bring up the windows advanced menu options. Use the arrow keys to select safe mode and hit enter.

*Just do a system restore in safe mode and pick a date to restore back before you started getting the blue screen

If the above options dont work or you are not able to boot safe mode then you will have to reinstall windows

Thanks..

Restarts at windows loading screen. However it only does this on cold start. After the computer has been off for more than 8 hours.

try F8 when the computer is booting. This should take you to an optional start up menu. Try the safe mode. Did you recently install any devices or software? If you did in safe mode remove them and reboot. Should fix the problem

My computer keeps turning its self off before it gets to the desk top screen.

i think your operating system is crashed or corrupted. try to boot in safe mode. for boot in safe mode press f8 at the time of startup and select safe mode. if your system boots in safe mode. If its a crash of operating system then run chkdsk for c drive and select two options with tick marks. it asks to scan at next time startup. select yes and restart your system. after scan it will fixed.

Emachince t3604 with vista wont boot just a blank screen tried to get bios screen safe mode etc. but nothing shows on the monitor. n e advice?

Make sure --- turn power off, leave off for 30 seconds. Power up again, holding the F2 key down. This WILL take your eMachines into Setup (BIOS). If it doesn't then your keyboard is most likely defective. If it does get you to setup, press F10 and Enter. Reboot with Ctrl+Alt+Del and this time hold the F8 key down ... just hold it down till something happens, choose Start in Safe Mode with Network Support. Again if F8 doesn't work probly says Keyboard is bad. This is for whatever Operating System you are using.

Microsoft Windows Vista users Tip: If you are running Safe Mode because you cannot get into Windows you may want to first try loading the last known good configuration. Additional information about this mode can be found on document CH000626
To get into the Windows Vista Safe mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.
Note: With some computers if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message. If this occurs, instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key", tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu.
