Problem may be reset needed, or lens need cleaning, or dvd recoreder worn out. Reset is pull the plug from the wall for 5 minutes. Turn it back on after reset to load firmware again, may work after that.. TDK makes lens cleaner. LG uses fan so, dirt can get into dvd recorder lens. If the tray moves out wiggly, laser assembly may move wiggly too. Replace dvd recorder which is a dvd+-rw regular ide unit from computers.
Use DVDFab to rip the files to your HDD, it will create a VIDEO_TSfolder and put all the video files in it. DVDFab is a whole movieripper only, so you're getting everything on the disk ripped to you'reHDD, once DVDFab is done, run DVD shrink. Use DVD shrink to open thefiles created by DVDFab (use the open files tab and browse to theVIDEO_TS folder created by DVDFab and choose it), at this point shrinkwill import the files, use shrink as you normally would to create yourbackup.
1. Power on 2. Open DVD tray 3. Press HOME 4. Select/choose SETUP 5. Use arrows to move to LOCK icon 6. Press 0000000 (press the number 0 (zero) seven (7) times) - You get the REGION FREE message 8. Confirm OK
Insert a non compatible dvd disc, when the dvd player spits it out again press 0 seven times and the dvd player will congratulate you on making it regionfree.
I just got a RH387H in Hong Kong, region 3, but the above method doesn't work, this model has slightly different icon, no "lock" icon, I tried in other similar location but no effect, hopefully someone will provide a method.
The cd tray eject after put in the DVD movies, but VCD working fine...it is means that the drive's region code haven't set yet .(please refer to user manual to setting the region code) ..or unplug the recorder drive from the dvd player, using the computer setting to change the region code by connecting to computer's IDE cable .
