The AVI discs are DIVX I am assuming.. Does your player support DIVX media? I am not sure what your model is, but I am thinking that your player will not support DIVX. If this is the case, you might need to burn new DVDs in the traditional VOB format that it can see. Check your owners manual to see about DIVX support.

thanks!

My DVD Slideshow will only play on my PC.

To play on a dvd player the files must have an extension the dvd player understands i.e. .avi, .mpg4, .mvk etc.

We have two Pioneer DVD V7400s that won't play DVDs. They can, however, play CDs. Bad laser?

Hi, My guess is that the DVDs are not compatible with the DVD player. They must be windows compatible. WMA or WMV (MP4 format) or (avi) Make sure the your DVD player is indeed a DVD player and not a CD player. Good luck.

Playing avi files on dvd

It all depends on what media player you are trying to playback the media with. For example, if you're using Windows Media Player, you won't be able to play them back without installing additional codecs. You can download them directly from here for Windows Media Player and other media players: http://www.free-codecs.com/Codec_Packs.htm

Hope this helps. If so, please rate. Thanks.

My asus dvd writer does not make dvd video which play on dvd player

If you're talking about making "Home Video" into playable DVDs it's not because there's necessarily a problem with your DVD-Burner. It's most likely because your home videos are being recorded as .AVI format files. There are some other file formats it could be, but it all boils down to the same problem: the DVDs you make will only play in computers or on the rare chance that you come across a DVD player that plays those formats. The best way to remedy this situation is to buy a program that will convert the files from .AVI to DVD. There are several to choose from. Roxio reportedly has software\programs that will do this. I'm sure that Nero does too. Both companies produce several different versions of "Burning Software" do your research and be sure you buy one that will convert the files for you. There is another one that I've personally used to convert the files and burn the DVDs for me. It's "I'm Too AVI-to-DVD". I know that is an odd name for a program, but it's straight forward in what it's function is. When I used this program to convert the file formats for me and burn the DVDs it literally took several hours to convert and burn about 5GB of video for me. I don't know if Roxio or Nero would be able to do it faster than that. converting file formats can be a lengthy process.

How to transfer Panasonic DMR-E80H recorded DVDs to computer

I have to agree with XELIAM regarding finishing the disk, under the DVD "FUNCTIONS" selection from the remote. I also use the SLYSOFT products to transfer my videos to what ever other mode of video I wish to have, whether iPOD (MP4), or DIVX (AVI) or loads of other options. Slysoft makes a GREAT product
