8532899 I bought a new Projection Lamp for my 42 sony and my tv wont show a picture it just keeps blinking a red light that say stand by what do i do do i have to reset is there a reset button?

This TV is garbage! Finally through mine out in the garbage - replaced the lamp cost from $100-300 - both lamps exploded - replaced optical block twice - lens very distorted - plain old garbage! I will never buy sony products again especially since I paid 4,000 for this tv it was new tech at the time and I was desperate for a tv - sad I am!

Three red light blinks shows that lamp cover is not properly closed after lamp replacement. Make sure that the lamp cover is in its proper position. Try to reset the lamp cover and turn it on clockwise direction until you heard a click sound of a micro switch activated by the lamp cover, then put the set on..

Lamp is dead/ broken in your tv and need to be replaced as lamp light blinks showing that problem.
Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user manual.
Buy Sony original lamp for good picture quality and replace it as mentioned in user manual.

Is the light blinking constantly or is there a long pause then more blinking. If constant check the lamp door switch . Usually it is broken or jammed. If you jumper it and the set comes on that it. 4 blinks is bad fan.

Ur Lamp reqiure changing.The LED light in front blinking said lamp?Must change the lamp.

Three flashes usually means the lamp cover is not attached securely and the TV has gone into a "stand by" mode, recheck that the lamp,lamp door, and front panel is securely attached.

New bulb is just fine.
3 blink shows that lamp cover after replacement of bulb in TV is not fixed properly or not seated well in its position.
Put new bulb and carefully place back lamp cover in its position because lamp cover will press tinny safety switch inside that will send signal to system control of TV that lamp is installed properly.
Turn On TV and get vivid picture of Sony.

After replacement of lamp, please put back Lamp Cover securely as TV shows error of lamp cover (3 times blink)
