Yes you can take the back bottom of the tv off.You will see 3 bulbs 5or6" in diameter.take a very soft clean cloth spray cloth not bulbs.windex persoal cleaner for your glasses ect.wipe bulbs gently removing dust.Above thes lights are the mirror maybe 10"by12" clean that to spray cloth not mirror than wipe clean"Now get limber and try to reach the inside of the big screen and wipe completely.

Its more likely that the front and rear mirrors need to be cleaned. The mirrors tend t get dull and that will cause the picture to become dull and the colors wont appear as vibrant as normal.

Hello, My picture has gotten very dim and dark. I was told my bulbs need cleaning. How can I do this by myself or do I have to hire someone to do this for me. Thank you, Debbie

Its more likely that the CRT coolant needs replacement. Thats vert famous for that model. The CRT coolant gets messed up and the CRTs cant project the image properly so it gets a dull picture and the color tints are wrong.

Do I need to clean the screen on a DLP television? I have only changed the bulb. I feel like the picture is getting less sharp.

Not the screen so much as the projection mirror which is located on the rear wall of the Set. If the mirror gets dull it can make the picture dim and dull looking. Cleaning the mirror will help. Some models have a small mirror which projects the image back onto the rear mirror. Dont use windex, just a damp cloth then dry good.

Dull picture on my KP61s65

You can safely clean the mirror and lenses, it can greatly increase your picture if its dirty. If you unplug your tv you can safely remove the back and gain access to the lenses. All it takes is a philips screwdriver. After you remove the back, you can remove the light barrier between the upper and lower half to free up some room. Take a dry scratch-free cloth and wipe the dust from the lenses. If they're grimy, use a little lens cleaner (liquids used sparingly here, electronics don't like liquids, be careful) You can look up into the top and see if the mirror is dirty. A flashlight shined on it will illuminate the dust/dirt if its there. If you don't smoke you likely won't need to clean the mirror, but it may need it. Use windex or similar for tough grime.. I can usually reach up to get the whole mirror but I've heard of using a swiffer mop to reach the top. Removing the screen is difficult but possible if needed to get inside. Don't touch the back of the screen but lightly with a rag to get cobwebs, etc.

How can I clean the mirrors on this tv?

to clean the mirrors you must remove the screen first there are several screws in the back to remove the screen. then there is a mirror shaped like a polligon clean this with a dry cloth do not use a paper towel. soft colth must be used on any optical surface. then clean the optical engine lens in the same manner. them the large mirror in the back. remeber if you leave a defect on any of these surfaces it will be amplified by the screen. this system relies on a lamp to provide bright picture so replace that as well. this should be a part of your anual cleaning agreement of the after market warranty you purchased assuming you bought one. dim picture = lamp, fuzzy, dim, dull picture = dust
