Open the port that holds the card and remove the card see if its damaged or maybe that the lock that is located on the side of the card is in the locked position if it is set it to unlock and this should fix the problem if the card is damaged it needs to be replaced.
If this camera uses SD cards then what may be happening is that the little lever that drops into the slot on the side of the card to indicate locked or unlocked is jammed in the locked position. If you shine a flashlight in you might be able to see where the pin is.

With help of Yamaha tech staff, I inserted a business card under disk "lid" in bottom left corner, slid card to right to release catch. With catch released, pushed disc in to insure in OK, closed lid cover, then slide card from lower right corner to left to re-catch. Read disc OK.
Remove SD card, then whilst card is removed, delete all pictures that may still be stored in cameras 'internal' memory (usually just a few) then replace SD card. Should be unlocked now?.
