Everytime I change the fuse it burns out - 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Club Cab

its not the fuse. When you get in the truck the blinker will work for about 2 mins then its like it gets stuck on, and doesn't blink again.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2010

no I did not, I actually gave the info, Apparenty its not blowing the fuse it just stops blinking after 2 ,mins, It just satay on solid red. After a little while you can use it once again. So it is not the fuse.

I need clarification!!!!!!!! What fuse is BLOWING OUT????? Most likely there is a Short Circuit to Ground causing the instant blowing. Check the circuit with an Ohm Meter to see what Resistance the circuit has. Test from the LOAD Side of the Fuse holder to Ground. If Zero Ohms there is a Short. If some very low resistance is evident then the Load on the Circuit is excessive. Use Ohms Law to Solve for Load using the Resistance shown on the Ohm Meter and 12 Volts for the Voltage. E=IR is the basic formula. E = Voltage I = Current R = Resistance To Solve for I = E/R To Solve for R = E/I Obviously either the load is excessive or the wrong Fuse Rating is being installed. Check your Owners Manual for proper Fuse Rating for The Circuit in question. Verify that the Fuse you are installing is Correct Rating for that circuit. If proper rating then trace the Wiring from the Fuse Block all the way to the Load whatever it is for damaged wire contacting metal that is either Body or Chassis GROUND. Fastest Robe

Obviously your Flasher is defective or one of the Lamps is intermittent. Federal Law requires the Flasher to quit Flashing if a Bulb is Burned Out or the Circuit to either front or rear has an intermittent connection. Next time it Stays on check the Front Bulb for the side you are indicating a turn. If Both Front and Rear Bulbs are lit then replace the flasher. Flashers do wear out!

Hi i have a 07 civic and my a/c fan fuse not relay keeps burning everytime I replaced it with a new one but the fan works

Try spinning the fan by hand, it should turn very easy.
Too much resistance cause heat and the fuse to burn out.
If not, try wd40 on the shaft or replace the fan.
It is old??

I tried to install a audio sytem to my 2000 Buick Century, but everytime I did, it burned my fuel pump. Why would it do this? Please help.

You may have a short in your wire harness. always disconnect the battery when changing or working on electrical accessories in you car. two options. take you car to have the radio replaced professionally or rewire the radio power to run off the fuse panel fuse for the radio, eleminating the direct plastic plug in. make sure you get the positive + negative - correct and you should be ok.

My fuse for my AC blower motor blows everytime I turn on the ac or heat even when I change thr fuse how can I fix this

Look under the hood and unplug the blower motor. Then replace the fuse. It should not blow the fuse without the blower connected. If the fuse blows again there is a short before the blower motor. There are several Black power boxes, usually under the hood on the Drivers side, the A/C relay may be burned out.

If the fuse does not burn out, replace the Blower motor. You can get one from a Salvage yard or Autoparts place. If you still have problems and the Climate Control panel is lite, there is a self-diagnostic feature which is run by pushing some of the control buttons in a particular sequence.

The codes for this sequence is different from the Master computer.
It may also reveal problems only a Technician can fix. So try the Blower motor first, A/C relay second, and hopefully this will get you going.

Blown brake fuses

It's a shortage in the system. A positive cable is touching chassis somewhere in the car. This will be found with some more wiring testing. Check with your local electromechanic for further assistance.
