The message you are getting is not the actual problem. Clearly your PC has enough memory to do scanning, are you sure medion scanner is compatible with 64bit OS? could you try this on a 32bit machine?

Firstly, is your laptop connected to the internet when trying to install your scanner?
Windows 7 will automatically browse Microsoft's online database of drivers if it's not found in your laptop database.
If you are in fact having driver issues, have you checked the following web page to locate your scanner software?

If, however, you have the drivers, make sure that these are compatible with Windows 7 as your scanner was manufactured before Windows 7 existed. In this case try using Windows 7 compatibility wizard to install your scanner software.

You can do this by right-clicking on the installation file & selecting "troubleshoot compatibility" from the drop-down menu. Simply follow the on-screen directions step by step to check if Windows 7 has compatibility issues with your scanner software. In most cases this procedure should solve your problem.

You don't need the disc anyway. All you need to do is to click here and download the basic driver. Then remove your scanner and double-click on it and run the installation. After that, connect your scanner and it should be installed. You can then use MS word, Paint or any other program to scan docs, etc.

For future downloads, bookmark this site so you can always download driver when required. Just do a full text search in Drivers section for scanner (input scanner in search field)
