I have a Sony Model # KDF-E55A20 HD Television. I

I have a Sony Model # KDF-E55A20 HD Television. I think that I have a Power Supply Problem because the picture quality is great but te TV comes on and off at 30 second intervals. The sound system that I have conected to the TV has 3 (three) barely discernable pops that can be heard before the TV comes back on. All the green Power On Indicator is on all this time. Am I correct in my assumption that this Power Supply related?

The problem is not air flow because that was checked and all the fans are working and no excess of accumulation of dust in the the ducts. Is there a temperature switch that could be replaced or electonic device on the P/S that I should look at replacing.

The problem is sort of complex. This could be the main power supply, or the high voltage supply. There is also a chance there is a short on one of the boards and the main supply is tripping to protection.

This is not something you can fix at home. In consideration of the service cost, and most likely the circuit boards and many of the parts will no longer be available, you should consider a new set!

Power Supply board is dead.Replaced the power supply board.Tries these Websites Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement,will get the power back.

The sony model KDF-E55A20 has no sound or picture. The power led flashes red six times consecutively after being turned on.

Your thermal fuse has popped and needs replaced. This TV has a service bulletin regarding this issue. You should contact Sony for the replacement part/kit.

HOW DO I GET MY LAMP OUT. I CAN'T FIND THE SPOT TO ACCESS THE LAMP ON MY SONY MODEL # KDF-E55A20

There are thumb screws at lower corners of TV, lose them and pull lower front panel, check near front control buttons you will see lamp door, open it and take out lamp. Put new lamp and put things in reverse order.

This model does not require lamp timer reset, put new lamp securely and power up TV for picture.

Probably lamp. usually powersupply will give the first click but not the second to power up the lamp. there is no horizontal fix for that type of tv
