What do I do when my Magnavox flat screen TV volume is going up and down by its self?

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Why does the volume go up or down by itself as well as the tv turns on and off and changes changes by itself?

Sounds like main power regulator board fault. Contact any service technician. This is not a user repairable fault. Gopakumar Gopalan Google

Volume turns down by itself until it says VOLMIN

The quick fix is to unscrew the cover and also remove the faceplate. There is a very small brown ribbon connecting to a slot where It is labeled in small lettering "vol + / vol -". That ribbon will disconnect the front volume touch panel. That has solved my issue. I own the Samsung Home theatre with the vacuum tubes.

My Samsung DLP HLR5667W went blank. Just before it went out, I was unable to control volume/mute. I replaced the lamp ($175 a Walt's ripoff shop) and the TV worked for four hours then died again

I would guess that it could be the main board going bad. Check all our connections and wiring. You should call places like Tri-State Module and they can probably send you a part or repair for way less than 500 bucks.

Can not turn off and volume turns down by it self changed batteries in remote

Need more info to assist you with the issue. Does the tv work except the volume turns down by itself even with the batteries removed from the remote? If so its either the Tact switch for the vol down has an issue or the main board has an issue. If the remote wont work the tv properly either or not at all too then i would say the main board is causing both conditions. If you require further assistance please let me know.

I have a Vizio VX37L, the volume will turn up by it self and you can turn it down but the volume will go right back up. The volume will also decrease as well on its own. Sometimes it will change channels...

check to see if the buttons on the side are stuck in the down position, kinda hard you have to feel it. Vizio buttons do get stuck. sometimes you have to unscrew the back of the tv and replace it correctly so the buttons are not pushed down. if the buttons are not pushed down you have to buy a button control board. if you were able to unscrew the back, you should be able to see the board where the buttons are, look online for that board, they usually cost less than $30 but you need the right board. once you replace it (make sure power is off when taking back off) replace the back of the tv and you should be set. there is also some kind of spongy material that will get stuck, but if you're experiencing the problem with two different buttons then i suggest they are stuck or the board needs replacement.

Sound problem

Check all the usual suspects. Windows Volume, speakers volume. Make sure its not muted in the hardware. There is a key function that can mute or change the volume.

Its the light blue function key at the bottome left ( usually). You hold that down and press the light blue volume button ( usually at the top left or right keys.

Did it work one day and just stop?

Also go into the sound settings and make sure the sound device for the laptop is selected.

If none of these things work, you may have a bad sound card on the mother board which requires a new Mainboard.

I would have someone who knows about computers give it a once over. find someone you know who can just give it a quick once over before spending any money.

Alot of times the Key function volume controls will get turned off but still shows that its on in windows. Depending on the laptop

Fluctuation in sound output on Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 speakers

Hi Paulus
A lot brand of speakers, like Sound Blasters, Logitech, Cambridge, has this (strange) kind of volume problem, sometimes, is the resistor, in the volume control, sometimes in the modulator for the board on the sound speakers, Subwofer.
I use a general tip is let the volume in one setting and don't move in the intermediate low volume say....9 .
from other thing, be change the speakers.
