Reinstall the cartridge. Turn of the printer leave it for 10 minutes and restart again. If you still have more problem check below link, youmight find some useful info.

Most of the carridges have a sensor on them for the printer intended . iwould try another cartridge and if that one was just purchased return it its defective

Please note that the #2 cartridge is the starter cartridge and the after market cartridge is the #1 cartridge.

The Lexmark X2470 printer uses the #1 cartridge which prints both color and black accordingly. While printing black it uses processed black. Hence, to print color images in "Black Only," please follow the steps given below:
1. Click on "Start," "All Programs," "Lexmark X2470 printer" group and then "Lexmark Photo Editor."
2. Click on "File" and then "Open" to select the color image file.
3. Click on "Image," "Mode" and then select "Grayscale."
4. Click on "Print."
This will print the image in gray.

I just refilled my printer cartridge and it keeps telling me unsupported cartridge. I have not had this happen in the past, help please

Hi Glenda

Trying cleaning the contacts on the cartridge and clean the contacts on the printer use a dry tint paper towel to clean the contacts. Then try to reinstall the cartridge using the software. Try to print the self test. If failed try another cartridge if you dont get any error then the cartridge might be defective

Unsupported cartridge

Check the cartridge specifications for your printer in the manual and make sure they are the correct type. Newer printer nowadays don't accept generic (3rd party) and refilled cartridges due to a new sensor system on most.

Since this is a brand new printer, I recommend taking it back to the store and either getting original, compatible cartridges, or get a new printer altogether, under warranty.

Unsupported cartridge message

I was having this problem with a Z730. The printer was finally working again after removing and inserting ink cartridge like 40-50 times. No pun intended. After installing cartridge try turning off printer and then back on.

Printer will not work

Hello trudyann,
I think you re-filled the cartridge and that's why you got this message
Use genuine cartridge and it will be work correctly.
But if you can copy papers by this All-In-One device .. and you can't use it as printer .. re-install the driver .. While installing if you got error message like [Unsupported cartridge] Press [Alt+F4] and continue the installation.
