I have a Nikon Coolpix L11 camera and the lens is stuck. It won't open or close. When I turn the camera on, the screen reads lens error. I don't ahve the money to send it in and I have no warranty anymore. Is there something I can do myself?

I have the same problem with my nikon coolpix s200. After 2 months the lens of my camera won't go inside. On the lcd screen stood lens error. I went to a shop with this problem. He took the battery out of my camera and press the off and on button for a while. Then he put the battery back in the camera and press the on button. The lens of the camera was now going inside en outside and inside and outside with a strange noise. And also on the screen stood lens error. Okey, the lens is inside the camera. But how can I fix this camera? What is the problem? What have you done? Please let know..!!
I just wrote a warning about these "telescoping lens" cameras, You need to get the lens back on track. maybe steady pressure, applied to the back of the camera with the lens on a towel on a table to ensure it remains parallel to the camera body.
