1...Try and tease it out by using an old CD through the slot

2..If that doesn`t work then the player will have to be removed from the dashboard, the metal cover taken off and the CD extracted.

Make sure you have the security code BEFORE you pull out the player from the dashboard.

If you do not have the code

POST ANOTHER QUESTION quoting the radio MAKE+MODEL plus ALL the LETTERS+NUMBERS on ANY LABELS ,BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING

Also quote the MAKE of CAR

Jvc kd-sx770 car stereo--radio works, but cd player doesn't

Hello beeswing70,

The player is recognizing that a CD has been inserted but is not able to read it.

Sometimes the lens assembly becomes contaminated and obscures the laser. I'd try using a commercial "lens cleaning CD" two or three times and then try a CD again. These lens cleaning CD's are widely available. If cleaning does not help, the player need professional service.

Hope this helps.

Cd read e-05

Well E-05 error code on Kenwoods is "the cd is upside down" So either the disc is upside down or there is a problem and the Kenwood unit thinks it is upside down.

Cd door will not open

same thing happened to me. turn the system off, unplug it. then back on and after you switch to CD mode (for some reason the CD tray will not eject unless in CD mode), once the system tries to lock on to a specific CD tray, hold the eject button down for 5 seconds. that worked for me. may have been dumb luck but can't hurt.

KDC-MP228 cd no play w/ codes

Gave up on it and bought a pioneer. Kenwood said to take it in to a service center. The service center would have cost me more than the crappy stereo.
