Kenmore Oasis washer model 110.27032600; althought the tub itself is empty if you manually spin the agitator you can hear that there is water still inside of the washer. It's not visible but you can hear it. I checked all valves and tubes. Nothing. I even tilted the washer upside down... and still nothing. Where is this water hiding? It's causing the washer to unbalance on spin cycles!!
1) did you check to see ( bottom ) if at one time you may have leaked fluid from the balancing ring? usually white oxidized color if water condensate's for a while. 2) This model you have has the tub suspended. There should either be three or four of these suspension brackets. try adjusting these and see if it helps. often times the washer is unevenly loaded and becomes off balance, therefore kicking springs and suspension pieces out-of-whack suspension, springs, balancing rings or anything else put in place to stabilize a load, is only a means under the right conditions...if these conditions are wrong they will do nothing.
When you tipped the washer was the drain hose still attached? and if so was the drain hose elevated? most top load washers will have an amount of leftover water in the bottom of the tub. with the drain hose off and the washer tipped towards the rear you should lose any excess water. also try to open the top of the agitator to see if there is any water trapped there. hope this helps....
go to sears.com > parts and type in your model # this will pull up drawings of your washer, to give you a better understanding of how it is assembeled. It took me a couple of years as a sears in-home repair tech to get really good at disassembling washers and putting them back together, it is not easy.. I wish you the best of luck... comment back with you findings...~chuck
The last and final chapter is the motor there is a counter weight right above the motor. this may be damaged and need to be replaced. the motor also has buffers, 4 of them, that may need to be replaced. use the original link that i gave you, and you will see what im talking about you may need to disect this thing right down to the motor and carefully inspect each piece as you go.. however, be advised that w/out experience in the field. this may prove to be quiet the challenge!! ( especialy on this model ) comment back if you have any questions.

The drain hose was disconnected from the tub and nothing came out. I checked all other tubes and all were dry. Agitator also was dry. Not sure where that water is but there's a lot of it. Is there a way to remove the top section of the washer to get a better look at the tub from that angle?
Last night, I tried to wash a load and got the now traditional banging during spin cycle, did a drain and spin while empty, got banging again and the water is still hidden somewhere inside.
Ok, using the doagram you sent, I was able to take the top of the washer off to further inspect the interior. Nothing. Everything is in place, no signs of extremem wear and tear and no water.
Now I did some more reasearch online and found that this washer has a stabilizing ring that is full of some type of liquid to help balance the tub during high spins. If this is the water and its purpose, its doing a horrible job.
Keeping the top lifted, I ran a few spin cycle tests (with empty tub) to see if anything would 'show itself' in order to nail the precise location of the problem. Nothing. Low rpm's the tubs spins fine, as soon as it goes into high rpm, the tub goes off balance banging all over the place until it auto shuts off.
What else could be causing this problem?
On saturday I was able to check the bottom. It was clean just like the day I bought the unit.
Last night I rechecked the suspension and it's all in place. The top washers are fine and have enough grease, the bottom springs are working nothing out of place and all four have their thin plastic "washers" in mid position between top and bottom. All is in place.
Is there perhaps another factor/element that is causing the problem since it will go off balance even when the tub is completely empty?
Here's what the problem was ultimately. The suspension elements of this washer which consists of 4 wires that hold the tub suspended off of the ground had to be replace alongside the top washers that were over greased. The tech that came o fix it mentioned that this is a factory defect since the top washers were over-greased causing the suspension wires to stretch over time. With in the end caused the tub to unbalance when a load is being washed/dried.
Since the repair, the washer has performed as normal and without the banging noise. However, future purchases will avoid the Kenmore brand. I've had way too many problems with them in general.
Hope this helps over Kenmore owners out there!
