If you connect Modem to your laptop, can you go online? If you are able to go online like that then log onto www.hnetworking.com and we can take the remote access of your computer and try help you out.
First I would open Internet Options in the Control Panel, click on the Connections tab, click LAN Settings and deselect everything that is checked. If you still can't go to a site, try Google Chrome or any other browser to see if they work.
It could also be that you have Limited Connectivity. Click Network and Internet Settings and see if check your status there.
here is the most simple way using your computer modem
Yes, you can setup with just a modem for broadband access and
still play online with the PLAYSTATION®3. You will not be able to
access your PC and PLAYSTATION®3 online at the same time. The following
steps need to be taken to play using just a modem:
Unplug the power cord and the USB cable or Ethernet cable coming from the modem.
Wait two minutes and then plug the power cord back in which will reset the modem.
Take
the straight through Ethernet cable and run it from the LAN port on the
back of the PLAYSTATION®3 into the ethernet port on the modem (you may
need to unplug the Ethernet cable already in there. Also, make sure a
USB cord is not connected to the modem as this will cause your
PLAYSTATION®3 not go online).
Turn on the PLAYSTATION®3 to
log into the PLAYSTATION®Network (you may need to log in manually if
your settings are not set to automatically login). When you are done
with your online activity with the PLAYSTATION®3, turn off the
PLAYSTATION®3 (refer to the Quick Reference manual) and then follow
these directions:
Remove the Ethernet cord going from the ethernet port on the modem to the LAN port on the PLAYSTATION®3 out.
Reset
your modem as you did before my unplugging the power cord for two
minutes and then replug the Ethernet cable/USB cord coming from the PC
to gain internet access onto your PC. (Please note that this step can
be skipped if you do not want to have internet access on your PC at
this particular time or do not have a PC at all.)
When you would like to log back onto the PLAYSTATION®Network please follow the steps beginning at the top.
The modem setup should appear like this: From there, please follow these instructions (from SCEA):
Select "Network Settings" under "Settings" in the home menu, and then press the "X" button.
Select
"Internet Connection Settings", and then press the "X" button. When a
message stating that the Internet connection will be terminated is
displayed, select “Yes”, and then press the "X" button.
Select "Wired Connection", and then press the "X" button.
Select "Easy" or "Custom" and adjust settings as necessary. Follow the on-screen instructions to adjust the required settings.
Note:
You should always choose Easy before going onto to adjusting the Custom
settings. In most cases, the Easy settings will work and are set
automatically.

If your computer is able to go online through the
modem, that means the modem is working fine. You will need to connect the computer to the
router and the modem to the router. open the set up page of the router and change the
settings of the router according to the ISP.

and network
Are you trying to set up router ?
You can set up your router manually, without the CD. Make sure that your computer is able to go online directly through the modem. If your computer is able to go online through the modem Then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router. open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

SO All the other computers are able to go online but only 1 computer is not able to go online. Check the IP address on that computer. Click Here for more info about routers and network
Try to make a new connection shortcut and make sure your telephone line is properly connected on your modem. Also make sure that your password and username is correct. another thing is check that your system date is correct.. Hope this works ! ITTech7574
the motorola modem that att is using uses 192.168.1.x subnet. log onto your router and change it to 192.168.b.x where b is any number between 2 and 254 (just not 1). You should also log onto the modem and change the setting that allows it to share the external ip address with the router. You will need to do this if you plan on accessing your network from the internet.
It appears to me that you have everything plugged into the desktop PC. This is not the way that it should be done. Plug the cable modem into the wireless router via the Internet/WAN port. Plug your desktop PC into one of the ports numbered 1-4. Now connect to the router via the wireless connection for the router and you should be able to now connect to the internet with your laptop.
If it still does not work, power down everything in this order: Laptop, Desktop, Router, Cable Modem. Bring everthing up in the reverse order (Cable Modem, Router, Desktop, Laptop) waiting for each device to stablize before moving to the next.
Once you get everything working, turn on your wireless security (WPA not WEP) asap to keep your computers and surfing safe, and to keep intruders off your network.
