Hi!!Usually DELL passwords are stored in eeprom memoriesthat has to be read or writen to remove / bypass the BIOS password!!! Passwordgenerate a hash code that will appear after 3 wrong password attempts and ithas a 5 digit decimal format "xxxxx"
Another way to obtain password is by generate a unlock code or master password from the service tag that comes with the laptop in the bottom in the sticker (service tag "xxxxxxx")

Dell describes an easy way how to clear the CMOS settings in their manual for the E310. You can download it here. Look at page 110 (page 112 in the pdf-file) and follow the instructions.
!!! Turn off the power and unplug it from the wall. Wait a minute or two before you open the cover (page 63, pdf page 64), so all transistors and capacitors have the time to get rid of any electricity.
If the jumper method does not work, remove the CMOS battery for 5 minutes and put it back in (page 95/96, pdf page 96/97). That will clear the settings as well.
...and remember: ESD (Electrostatic discharge) is your enemy No.1 here! Make sure not to touch any parts of the motherboard or wear an antistatic wrist strap.
