As I understand, you inserted a disk in a card reader and you were connecting the card reader into your computer, is it right? If yes, then the problem could be the disk or the card reader.

* First, try connecting the card reader into different USB port.
* Try connecting it in a different computer just to isolate the problem.
* If the problem is isolated to the disk and card reader, try inserting another disk just to make sure that the card reader is working and plug it in to the computer.
* If another disk works with the problem card reader, then buy a new disk. But if same problem occurs though you use another disk, try another card reader.

Doing these steps would let you know which is causing the problem.

Have a great day!

When I download epubs on ereader some give error message:error dialog cannot open this book. The ebook will open on computer but not the Nook.

Some formats are NOT epub. The formats are specific to their ereader which can be on a computer (but not other ereaders). Some sites do not make this clear in the description. You need a pdf or epub format. Comic with .cbr, or .cbz will also work.

How do I use an SD card reader on a Lenovo tablet?

Sometimes when you insert sd card into a card reader, the card reader will not always work, I have had problems like this, so either try another USB port on the computer, or clean the contacts on both sd card & card reader.

Mounting sd card to a new phoenix hipstreet tablet

Look in Settings/Storage/SD Card and see if you have a Mount option when you insert the card. Make sure the card has gone all the way into the slot and has clicked into place. Make sure the size of the SD card you are inserting is supported by your tablet. (Check the specs in the full manual) If the SD card is larger than what is supported, it may not register with the operating system. Try formatting the SD card on a PC with a card reader and then inserting it into your tablet. (Use FAT32 format).Try another formatted SD card and see if it is recognized by the tablet.

How do i download pictures to tablet

Pandigital photo frames are an ideal way to display your collection of digital photos. You can view photos with or without a computer using just a memory card, but it's always a good idea to transfer the photos you'll want to view frequently to the internal memory of your frame. This is also a handy way to back up your favorite images.
  1. Transferring Photos from a Memory Card
    • Your digital photo frame's built-in software will recognize six types of memory card: CF I/II, SD, MS Pro, MMC and XD. Locate the slot on the back of the frame (to the left of the stand) that corresponds with your type of memory card. These are labeled as follows: SD/MMC/MSPro/XD, CF I/II, USB and mini USB. Insert your memory card into the appropriate slot, power on your digital frame, and it will automatically begin a slideshow using every available image on your memory card. Note that only JPEG formats under 16 megapixels are compatible.
    Transferring Photos from a PC
    • Use the USB cable that came with your frame. Connect the mini USB end to the mini USB port on the back of your frame; connect the large USB end to your computer's USB port. Double-click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop or in your Windows "Start" menu. You'll see that your computer has automatically assigned a drive to your digital frame---look for a device called "Removable Disk" followed by a letter (Removable Disk E:, for example). This is the folder that represents the internal memory of your digital photo frame; you will be dragging your photos into this folder.
Next, open the folder in which you store your photos ("My Pictures," for example). Select the photos you want to transfer to your frame. Drag them to the drive associated with your digital photo frame---this is the "Removable Disk" drive you located within the "My Computer" folder. Every photo you selected will then be copied onto your digital frame.
After the files are copied, disconnect your digital frame properly. If you don't, your frame's internal memory could be damaged. Look for the system tray in your desktop's lower right-hand corner. Left-click the icon that shows a gray box with a green arrow on top of it. Select "Safely Disconnect Hardware." A dialog box will appear, asking you to select the device to disconnect. Select the digital frame and click "OK." When the dialog box appears, click "Close." You'll see a message in the lower right hand portion of your desktop telling you it's safe to disconnect your frame.
Copying Photos to Your Frame's Internal Memory
    • You can use your frame's remote control to copy photos from your memory card or computer to the photo frame's internal memory. Connect your photo source (computer or memory card) and have your frame's remote control handy. Access the "Home" screen on your frame using the "Home" button on your remote control or by pressing the "Home" button on top of the frame. Next, choose "Photos" and press "Enter." You'll see all your photos in thumbnail form. Scroll through them with the up and down arrows. Press the "+" key to mark photos you want to copy (use "-" to de-select a photo). When you've selected all the photos you want to copy, press "Set Up," then "Copy Photo," "Enter," "Selected" and "Enter." A dialog box will ask you to confirm your selection; with the cursor on "Yes," press "Enter." The photos you selected will be copied to the frame's internal memory.

Hi, 1. How to transfer/copy bootable XP files onto SD card and then boot up Toshiba Portege M205 from the SD card? 2. Is it possible to made an image of my Windows XP CD on SD card? Regards Tad

Requirements

  • PC running Windows XP/2000 with a CD/DVD burner.
  • USB Flashdrive (Or some way to transfer files to the 3epc once Windows is installed)
  • SD Card, a fast SDHC is recommended of at least 2GB.
  • XP3eSD Utility
  • Hitachi Microdrive Filter Drivers
  • Partedmagic (or another bootable CD with disk cloning software)
  • Windows XP CD (SP2 Only Tested, may work with others)
  • Asus Eee PC (Of course!!)
Instructions:
  1. Copy all files from your XP Install CD to a folder on your Hard Drive
  2. Download the XP3eSD utility and run it to create a new install CD capable of installing Windows to boot off the SD card reader
  3. Boot your 3epc from the CD made in step 2
  4. Install Windows onto a FAT partition, deleting all the existing partitions
  5. When windows boots for the first time turn off the swap file, system restore, and the screensaver.
  6. Then stick your USB thumb drive into the EEE with the Hitachi Microdrive Filter.
  7. Next copy the files from your thumb drive to the desktop and then properly remove the thumb drive.
  8. Unzip the microdrive files to a folder on the desktop. And Insert your SDHC Card into the EEE.
  9. You need to then Hit Start go to run, and type regedit. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Enum\USBSTOR\
Inside that you should find a directory called something like Disk&Ven_USB2.0&Prod_CardReader_SD0&Rev_0100. Open it. Inside that you should find another directory wich is just a bunch of numbers. Open it. In the right pane you should see a key called "Hardware ID" Right click on it, and select modify. It should list about 7 lines of text. Copy ONLY the first line to the clipboard. Hit cancel, close regedit.
  10. Open cfadisk.inf in the directory you unzipped the microdrive filter to. Edit the section called [cfadisk_device] so that rather than containing 11 lines, just have one line. The line begins with: %MicroDrive_devdesc% = cfadisk_install,
After the comma, hit ctrl V to paste what you coppied from the registry into the file then save the file.
  11. Go to Device manager. Under disk drives, you should see SiliconMotion and USB2.0 Card Reader. Right click on the card reader and click update driver. Direct the driver updater window to the Hitachi driver you just edited. It won't detect the driver automatically, you have to specifty that your supplying the disk for the hardware and force it to use the driver.
  12. Reboot using the Partedmagic CD or USB Flashdrive, Download it here
  13. Create a FAT32 partition on the SD card, same size as the one on the SSD in your 3epc
  14. Use 'fdisk -l' to find out the partition names of your SSD and SD.
  15. Type this command into a prompt: 'dd if=/dev/sda1 of=/dev/sdb1' When it finishes (it will take some time) type this command: 'dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb bs=512 count=1' (Note: If fdisk reported your SSD and SD as different than sda and sdb respectively, you must change that in the dd commands, if unsure ask in the support forums)
  16. When it finishes the task is complete, reboot and select to boot from the card reader
  17. Re-image the SSD of your 3epc with your restore DVD or USB.

After formatting my tablet, I need to reinstall the menu with rotate screen from the side button.

Hi there

#1
Insert your ( memory card , flash disk , cellphone , .... ) into your computer.
#2
Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
#3
Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
#4
In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
#5
Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
#6
Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.
