I am using Windows XP, unifying the partitions, I'm not sure I understand... I defragged the hard drive, also I booted in DOS and swwitched off all non essential startup and applications users, but it still does it. It only happens with any application that uses sound or EQ..eg sound recorder starts and then when I hit stop after recording, this is when it tells me I have not enough memory. It also does it with my creative EQ(equlaiser)

when I hit the sound recorder, it allows me to record but when I hit stop it says I don't have enough memory for this application, quit one or more applications to increase available memory. It also does it with my Creative sound card when I try to access the EQ application

Have you unified your parititions. Have you booted in dos for a for a base evaluation of the resources on the system. What Os are you using. Im guesing windows or linux maybe.

You have to change the destination file of the sound recorders defualt location, it might be located on your c: which have only limited space allocation, so pls change the destination folder in which the recorded sound files stores. for further assitance reply me ,thank you.

What exactlly is telling you you do not have enough memory? Certain types of software set aside their own block of memory and that MIGHT be where the problem(s) are.

Ok go and check your c: drive memory status if you found less memory their then that will be the problem it is not only the case of a c: drive check all the drives how much space is left if not so space is there partion again and left a space of about 30 gb for c drive the place you installing the operting system and remaing can be used according to your taste and also try to install application in remaing drives dont try to install the whole applications in the c; drive it will slow down and shows low disk space and in every 3 days do this procedure just right click on the each drive take the properties and just click on disk clean up button it will help to remove all the unwanted programmes from the disk and this procedure will not allow your system to run out of memory try this thats all.... thanx for asking...

You need to have 6 gigs of free dynamic ram.(Not including that used by the operating system and any other applications you have.

The way that memory is organised in a computer these days is usually in pairs or DRAM (dynamic random access memory) sticks which are matched. This allows the CPU to withdraw data from both memory sticks in the same clock cycle (DDR double data rate) which improves the over all speed of the processing.

So legal combinations over 4 gigs which will use the dual channel feature on your motherboard will probably be.

2 x 4 gigs sticks = 8 Gig DRAM
2 x 8 gig sticks = 16 Gig DRAM

Below is the minimum specification requirement.

Note: MINIMUM Faster CPU better graphics card and More ram is better.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better CPU Speed: Info RAM: 6 GB OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 / ATI Radeon HD 5870 or better Sound Card: Yes Free Disk Space: 40 GB

Either you have 50 gigs of stuff on there or your hard drive space is not being properly read. U might need to reformat the drive if necessary.
Meanwhile your xbox electronics may have a limit on the size of space - so if the drive has 200 gigs of space on it and your unit will only recognize 32 gigs, then that is all it sees and can use. Capiche?

It sounds like you have laptop memory which is much shorter than standard ram. I would take it back and return it. You should have 240 pin ram for a desktop and 200 pin ram in laptop type devices.

Nba 2k10 is really slow on my computer, i just got the game and its the biggest thing i have on my computer probably. i have tons of space left, why is it so slow when i go into quick games?

Its not really a question of hardrive space. Its of RAM and graphics card memory. Your computer has 3 gigs of ram and the game requires one however if you have other things running while your playing they will also take up ram and when all the ram is being used the computer will run slowly. Try not to have anything running while you play the game and see if that helps.

If its still slow it could be because of video memory. Try to play in low graphics detail which will make it easier for the computer to "process"

Hope this helps.

Getting "Not enough memory available to complete this operation" error message using Sound Recorder

Hi,

there are a couple things you can try,

First update your windows, xp is limited but can handle more than three GB of RAM. You will need to update to service pack 3 which is available through windows update.

If that doesn't work, go to dell.com and click on support, then enter your service tag or express service code(on a white sticker on the bottom of the laptop) then go to downloads for your unit and look for firmware updates that relate to memory and any updates relating to your chipset.

Follow the instructions on the firmware carefully as messing this one up can damage the laptop.

Once you have finished try once again. If it still doesn't work you can try increasing your virtual memory to allow for some overflow, but if the first two suggestions don't work it's unlikely more virtual memory will help, still, worth a try.

Hope this helps FixYa

Test Drive Unlimited Is Lagging even when offline

It could be the graphics card. It could also be the amount of disk space you have left and how much ram you have installed on the pc. To play highly graphical games on a pc you going to want to have at least 2 gig of ram. Go to www.crucial.com download the program to scan your computer and it will tell you how much ram you have and what type and speed of ram that your computer is compatible with. With new computers ram is pretty cheap more than likely you can get 2 gig for around 30 dollars at www.newegg.com. very trustworthy site

Getting "Not enough memory available to complete this operation" error message using Sound Recorder

This problem occurs because of a design limitation in Sound Recorder and not because of any problem with the underlying multimedia. That means that the program is unable to access more than 2 gigs of memory by design.

You need a Type 2 PCMCIA card for this laptop. I was able to find a wired one here. Be sure that your OS will work with the card you choose. Also I have no experience with that website, so buyer beware. Another good place to find older computer parts is eBay, happy hunting.
