Hi trying to configure zyxel nbg334w router and when i put in http:/192.168.1.1 into my browser as it says in the manual to try and enter the router password the internet says it doesnt recognise the address and i cannot continue to set up the router.
Please help my wife is going mad and the kids want to use their new laptops. thanks!
If the router will not connect to the internet, you will need to create the PPPOE internet connection with the username and password that your ISP provided. BPCS

I've just spent the last week trying to configure my friends zyxel router using the ethernet option as described in the manual without success. Then it suddenly came to me...you must configure your LAN network to obtain an IP address automatically. If you started out using a broadband connection without a router (i.e with a modem) it is likely your ISP (service provider) allocated you with a fixed IP address. This needs to be changed (within your LAN settings, not your browser settings) to automatically aquire the IP address from your router.

Goto the CONTROL PANEL
Click on NETWORK & INTERNET CONNECTIONS
Click on NETWORK CONNECTIONS
Right click LOCAL AREA CONNECTION
Click on PROPERTIES
Click on INTERNET PROTOCOL (TCP/IP)
Click PROPERTIES
Select OBTAIN AN IP ADDRESS AUTOMATICALLY
Click on OK
With your router connected to the ethernet port on your computer, re-launch your internet explorer and your routers' homepage should be displayed. If it does not, try typing the IP address of your router (normally 192.168.1.1) into the explorer address bar.

I had the same problem, switching the Modem off and router at the same time then reconnecting them both to the mains worked for me.
My router was working fine until I spilt water on it :(
I opened it up and all seems well and it turns on just fine but the light for the internet just flashes now.
It doesn't play nice with my router anymore, any help?

Router won't connect to the Internet.
Ok here goes - my modem is connected to my router with an ethernet cable, another ethernet cable is connected from the router to the computer.. when i try to connect to the internet to start the configuration process, It says 'page cannot be displayed'.
Thing is, I did all this before and it worked, but for some reason, the internet isn't working this time. I've tried everything, please help!

i don't seem to be having quite the same problem as above as i can get the router to connect to the web, its only when setting up the security on it that it loses the whole connection, and have set up everything to the book. Have set up my own wireless network (admittedly with better kit) in under 5mins, so not sure for the life of me why this is not working (its for someone else's laptop, not mine.) Possibly a problem with not liking vista maybe ?
