Hey! Give this a try. I took the whole thing apart. There are 3 places where a strip of wires feeds into a one inch or so wide socket type thing. You want to pull out the wire strip and put it back in. The wires may be oxidezed or not seated properly. I also noticed one of the circiut boards had some sort of white reside on it. I used qtips and rubbing alcohol to take it off. Also, left unit unplugged for 20 minutes. Put it all back together and turned it on. Right speaker works like new. YAY!
it didn't get the high-pitched noise to go away but the Bose rep told me that was a problem with the design of the sound board and can't be fixed. No biggie. The noise goes away when I undock the iPod. Yay! :)
Try another Ipod first.Go to Bose website for tech help if this is not the solution. Is the Ipod connector damage on the bose or your Ipod?
