I am guessing that you are talking about getting it to talk on the FCC Citizens band. I am not too firmiliar with connex, but this will work with any radio with expaned channels.

Usually you use a frequency counter to see what frequency you are on when you are playing with the bands. If you do not have a frequency counter you can find the CB this way.

If its in a mobile, or you are not really far from a highway where big rigs travel, you can flip to channel 19 on the channel sellector then flip through the bands checking each time to see if you are on the CB 19. When you start to hear truckers or you get a radio check from a trucker your on CB 19. You can always ask the person, "this is 19 right"?

I recomend geting a frequency counter.

What channels are legal to use on a Connex 3300 with 40 upper, lower and regular settings?

only the CB band to TX on.. you may RX on any frequency.
ch.1-ch.40 am and SSB if it had it.. are the FCC allowed channels. yes there are people on those other bands. user beware.

Knob setting of front of radio (Connex 3300)

The best way to set it is to get you a radio check, go to channel 19 and ask someone about three to five miles away to give you a radio check, start with your modulation all the way open and go from there.....hope this was helpful...
