If your laptop is a little old even only a year or 2 old, then the battery is just wearing out and you will have to get a new one. Unfortunately laptop batteries only last a few years before they really lose their charge even with good care. To try and make it last longer use the battery managment if you havent already.

I've had battery dead problems on my Acer Aspire 3680 to the point where I have had to buy new batteries for it every 6 months to 1.5 years. The original 6 cell battery lasted about 1.5 years. Then, I got a high capacity 9 cell battery that lasted only 6 months off Ebay.com. They accepted it back as a defective battery and I got a partial refund.
I bought a couple more batteries for about $32-$39 a piece. Not a bad investment.

Also, check your charger, but on my Acer I've never had a problem there.

A blinking battery light usually means the battery will not take a charge from the system. When this happens the most likely cause is a shorted cell in the battery. Since it is under Acer warranty contact tech support and they will send you a replacement battery. Batteries normally last 2-3 years but you could have a factory defect in yours that just showed up after a little bit of use.

Yeah It Sounds like the battery is just had its last charge they only last for about 300 charges a piece i would get a new one go for at least a six cell they will last longer...Let me know if this works for you.

The only thing you can do is buy a new battery. The normal life of a battery is around two years. If it is used on a more regular basis it will not last as long. So don't feel bad it was nothing you did but the only way to fix it is to replace it they are not hard to find just type in the model in a search box I.E. Google Here is what i found

Are you talking about the CMOS battery? These last for years.

Batteries last about a year depending on if you let it fully discharge before recharge the very 1st time you use it.
the real average is to expect about 6 months usage before it degrades. by one year you'll be lucky if it gives you 30min charge.

Is your laptop still under warranty? I would go to the manufacturer first if it is.
If not:
the system clock is run by the CMOS battery. When low will cause a host of problems. Change it and let me know if this fixes your problem.

For acer 9410 you have 2 options for battery. an 8 cell battery which normally would last for 3.5 hrs. or a 6 cell battery that lasts for 2 hours. but that would depend on the application that you are using. for example, the battery will last longer if .you are just using it for email or chat compared to watching video. Why is that? its because watching video and playing games requires heavy processing thus consuming more battery. we should also remember that rechargeabu le batteries are consumable parts. it runs out in time. it is normal for it to degrade after a year. if it has'nt been a year since you purchased this computer then call acer and ask for a replacement battery. hope this helps?
