We bought a LG WD(M)-14341(6)FD washing machine approx 3 yrs ago and served us well. 2 weeks ago it developed a fault when the message FE flashed up on the LCD panel. We called a repair man in and he duly gave it a good clean and removed all the limescale. It worked for about a day when the FE message flashed up again. He thought the water valve was faulty and duly replaced the valve. We started up and the message PE flashed up on the LCD panel. He said the electronic panel is faulty and there's nothing he can do about it. Can anyone help? Is it worth pursuing with a repair or should we buy a new machine?

Hello,

The errors indicate the water valve or water sensor failure.
The washing machine have a water sensor to prevent overfilling. If you change the sensor, the washer will be work again.
FE error mean washer overfilling
PE error mean water sensor fault
I hope to be usefull !

SOURCE: Slime buildup in my washing machine

The slime is almost certainly the enzymes in the washing powder that are there to digest the dirt getting left behind.

3 things you can try:

  1. As a one off to help clear out the slime, throw a couple of DISHWASHER tablets into the machine and run it through the hottest cycle it has. This may help get rid of the problem, but it will of course come back.
  2. Reduce the amount of washing powder you are using and keep cutting back until you get to the point where the clothes arent getting clean (This has the advantage of cutting the cost of your powder purchases too!). This should allow the machine to more effectively purge the drum when it rinses.
  3. Finally, change your powder, if for no other reason than a test, go try a pack of NON-BIO washing powder and see if that helps. If it does, either stick with it or experiment with other powders until you find one that helps and you like.
A combination of 2 and 3 above should eventually get you where you need to be.

SOURCE: LE fault code for LG WD-1019bd washer

I found that in winter time not a problem with my LG front loader, but when the temperature went over 30 Celsius the problem came back and intermittent like yours did, there was also an unusual noise coming from the machine.
What I did to fix the problem was to remove the stator and place it in the freezer for about half an hour or so, I also cleaned any minor dust and grit from both the Stator magnets and the Stator drum, replaced it still very cold and now it works well with no more unusual noise and the outside temperature has no more bearing on the machine not spinning this day!
I hope this helps!

SOURCE: Whirlpool washing machine "clean pump" error light.

take top off machine. look down right side and you will see a disc about 50 mm in diameter, attached to this is a small flexible rubber pipe, take this off at the disc and blow through it,( you will need some type of pipe to connect to the rubber pipe).this worked for me with the very same problem.

LE Error??

your handbook should say what "fe" (a fault code) is. it may be not draining. have you checked the filter? on many machines the door can not be opened if water is still inside. try putting the drain hose at floor level into a bucket. otherwise undo the filter and let the water out that way - you may have water everywhere!!
