My player suddenly stopped working, the LED on it blinks green-yellow, like there were no music files on it, when I push the play button. The computer(PC) recognizes it, but iTunes doesn't. I can't even use it as a removable device, Explorer can't open the drive. Apple Updater fails to update or restore the device. I heard that lot of people have this problem. Does anyone know a solution? My warranty is over... for some reason when i plug my shufle to the usb port, yhe yellow light on it blinks about 5 times. but my pc doesnt recognize any removable drives!

If the status light blinks orange when you press a button, the iPod shuffle buttons are
disabled. Press and hold Play/Pause (’) for about three seconds, until the status light
blinks green.

Hi
Ur Ipod shuffles needs to be reset to factory setting, you will find the utility for Mac and windows machine at:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1293?viewlocale=en_US
http://www.techspot.com/downloads/3726-ipod-shuffle-reset-utility.html
1. Reset the ipod using the utility
2. Run itunes application to create profile : after you have reset the Ipod just start itunes and it will ask you to provide a profile name, just provide any name and select okay.
I had the same issue, got it sorted using the windows utility.
Should work for u as well.
Thanks
