Creative Zen Jukebox Xtra 60 GB

My Zen stopped working today.
Troubles:
I can switch it on - the display works - I can see the menu.
I am not able to switch it off (only if I remove the battery).
The scroll wheek doesn't move the cursor in the display.
It seems that it doesn't charge the battery anymore.

    Same problem. Left on charge for several days. Came back and will not start up. The CREATIVE copyright page is all that comes up or it alternatively comes up with CREATIVE <> EAX then repeats the cycle.

    The power supply still seems to be giving 5V ( digital voltmeter = 5.25V).

    With battery removed there is a fluctuating voltage displayed in time with the CREATIVE<>EAX rotation. not enough charge gets to the battery.

Here is a link to the Creative Mediasource software for the Zen Nomad http://support.creative.com/downloads/download.aspx?nDownloadId=8183

Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click agree. This will start the download. Then run the program on your computer and you should be able to manage your Zen with this software. Let me know if it works.

Mad at my nomad
It appears that my Creative Nomad Jukebox is stuck in the Rescue mode. It displays the four options suchn as. 1.Clean up 2. Format all 3. REload OS 4. Reboot

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard

It will display the following options:

Zen Nomad Xtra - to go to Rescue Mode do the following:
1. Insert a pin into the small hole on the left side of the player
below the volume adjustment switch.
2. Hold down the Play button on the right side of the switch
3. Rescue Mode Menu will appear
4. There are 4 Options available, but best option to fix most
problems is reformat hard drive.
5. Reformat is very fast
6. Turn off and reboot.
7. Problem solved.
