My RB-Li-26 will not charge, I feel as after trying to charge it, the DVD player still does not play but a few seconds. The DVD player works with plug-in power. Is the RB-Li-26 beyond repair.

I am having a similar problem with mine... same model. It worked fine last night but this morning, went on the fritz. It started pausing every few seconds and so we took the DVD out. This evening, I tried to play a number of different DVDs but now the player will not even read any of the disks. I've had this DVD player for about 6 years so maybe it is just time for something new!?

Tries websites like Partstore.com,Amazon.com,Ebay.com to buy an original battery or a compatible battery.

most of the time when your plugged into the pc it will charge see if this is true for your player if so leave it on the the pc for a few hours also drain the battery fully then charge for a few hours

I would say the chances are you can't, but all may not be lost. I assume you're after a replacement rather than a second battery, in which case, if you're ok with a soldering iron, you can replace the cells. You will need to prize open the plastic casing and you'll then be able to see what cells it actually uses. There are surprisingly few Li-Ion battery cells in use, and they are all 7.2V, so go on line and order up some of the right size and replace them. It really is as easy as that.

Li-Ion batteries normally come charged as they must never be fully discharged (they contain a small computer that will shut off the power to prevent it) so just take care that you don't accidentally short them while working.

Normal dvd players won't play blu-rays...fwiw.

Check with one of the stores that handle just that type of battery. If you need help finding one just write back and I will try to help you.
