I have found that sometimes the little locking switch will lock itself as you push it into the card holder in the camera.My solution is to unlock the card, then use some scotch tape to hold the switch in place.

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

I blocked my SIM card and can not unlock it now! :(! tried several options, still can not find the right one. Tried to unlock SIM card using laptop, but still nothing.

The camera is on but the sim card is blocked so we cant use.

You can remove the memory card - which sounds like it is locked and slide the lever on the right/ left corner side of the card and reinsert it.

Casio exilm ex-z80

I have exactly the same problem with my camera, admittedly it did get dropped on the floor. There is no other damage to it but now cannot use it as the camera says the card is locked.....I have tried a new sim card and also locking and unlocking the card but this does not work either.

Any ideas would be gratefully recieved as the camera is only two weeks old!

If this is an SD card you may need to take out the card and slide the small switch on the card itself to the "Unlock Position"

Remove the SD memory card and you see there is a small locking switch on the card which is used to protect your data. Slide the switch away from the locked position. If already unlocked then slide it fully to locked and then firmly back again.

If this does not work then you must try another SD card (2GB maximum on your camera).
