Install the Software of your camera in the your laptop by using the CD which came with your camera...after that whenever you will connect this will work finely...
Hi there, well I had this problem 3 weeks back but do not worry, you will never normaly need the old software that come with the camera anyway as it will be basic okay? you need to buy a package called Video Studio (around £14) load that onto your PC first, then re-boot the PC, then plug your camera into it's usb or firewire cable and your PC software will download your films ok. if you are using a cpmputer that has photo imaging software installed then you should be getting a prompt to choose what software you need to view photos with, or you should have received a cd rom from the manfacture to upload them to your computer afterwards you can use picassa from google to set them in photos ablums ect good luck
