I was getting streaking across all photos that I was scanning. So bad that I researched getting a new scanner. Then one day it started working just fine. Now today I scanned some slides and when I tried to scan photos, the streaking is back. Any advice?

Sounds like the scanner is skipping pixels. that is usually a sign of malfuncting. the best solution is get a new one. cost of getting new one is much cheaper to repair it.

I am using the Epson Perfection V700 photo scanner to scan dental xrays. Sometimes the xrays come out perfect, other times I get streaks across the image. Sometimes the streaks are colored, othertimes...

You have to use the "FILM AREA GUIDE" included with the scanner. This black plastic guide leaves a small area at the top of the glass open so that the scanner can calibrate itself at the start of each scan. Use the guide or leave at least 8mm between the top of your film and the top of the scanner glass.

Red and yellow streaks appear in scans, always in the same location. The scanner was cleaned but the repair person could not find any problem with the equipment. Yet the streaks persist. How do I resolve...

execute a calibration to correct the wrong color:
  1. place your photo on the scanner, with a distance of 0.25 inch from the edge of the glass
  2. open Epson scan and select Professionnal Mode
  3. select the document source
  4. select the image type
  5. uncheck thumbnail then click Prevew
  6. crop the area of the image
  7. Click zoom to fine tune the area you see the streaks
  8. select the resolution of 72 dpi
  9. scan your photo

if the problem still not solved, you need to change the scanner unit , there are many dead pixels.

My printer is leaving horizontal streaks across

When I had the same problem, I found out, that Epson did not like Generic Ink. As soon as I replaced it with Genuine Epson Ink, it was fine.

Make sure you do Maintenance, Nozzle Check and Head Cleaning. You might be clogged?

Good Luck.

Vertical streaks in photo scans

That problem is caused by dust or debris on the scanning "eye" itself. If you are confident in your skills, you can (UNPLUG FIRST) disassemble the scanner and use a microfiber cloth to clear anything on the light bar that scans your documents off.

Hope this was a little helpful,

Epson V300 Photo Scanner Streak When Scanning Negative

I also own a v300, and I have noticed that I occasionally get rainbow streaks if I bump the scanner at all while it is scanning negatives, so this might have something to do with vibrations in the machine. Is it sitting on a stable surface?
