Memory problem

When you install your RAM you should make sure it is the same spec as that you removed. I would suggest that you use 2 512 mb sticks as it will be faster than a single 1gb stick. Make sure you buy DDR 400 RAM You need to look for PC3200 RAM.

I have a Motherboard gigabyte GA-8PE800. when i

Hi,
The ATX 12v ( 4 pin Connector ) is For The CPU Power.
This could Indicate, either A Faulty CPU.
Or a fault To The Motherboards ( BGA ) or CPU Socket Holder.
Or alternatively, The Actual PSU Itself is Faulty.
You can obtain A CPU Socket Tester from e-bay. And A PSU Tester.

Hope This Helps Mike @ Compurepair.

Iv just been given a gigabyte GA-8PE800 motherboard

Gigabyte actually has a very good website. I pasted a link below to the CPU support list.

As far as what would be the best to buy I would say the closest to the top that you can afford ignoring the P4-Extreme CPUs.
