Bosch Dishwasher SHX56B05UC won't turn on after working fine everyday for almost 5 years. Checked circuit is fine. Disposal is running which is in same line. It won't turn on with power button today. It worked until now without any problem. What should I look for. Called a repair person but it will cost me $105/half-hour for the repair visit.

SOURCE: won't turn on

The door switch is definitely not the problem if the indicator lights are not coming on. These lights are supposed to come on when the door is open.
The problem is 1 of 3 things:
1) No power to outlet that DW is plugged into;
2) Bad connection where power cord is connected to dishwasher (see very bottom front, under kick panel)
3) Some problem internal to the DW (eg., bad switch, shorted wire, etc., )
Our SHX46A is definitely having problem 3, but Bosch's manual gives zero help. So, off to find more info online or, lastly, to call Bosch repair person. Sigh.

SOURCE: SHU43 Bosch Built-in dishwasher

Try running citric acid (3 tablespoons) through.
You can get it from a drug store.
Or, run 1/2 cup vinegar through.
Do this in both the dish washer and the disposal.
After doing this try running some water into the disposal and then see if the next time you run the dishwasher if it still smells.
You could be having a problem with water not staying in the drain trap under your sink that is why if you run water and fill the trap, then you will find out if it was the dry trap that caused the smell from sewer gases backing up into the house trough the garbage disposal.

SOURCE: Bosch Dishwasher will not power on

I have a bosch dishwasher model 2046. When you try start the cycle you hear the timer inside start to activate but the cycle doesn't start. The light in the start switch does not come on as well but I think it may be burned out. We have checked the breaker and I seems to have power.

Just had the same problem, same model. Found the wiring below the front cover fried. So now I'm checking to see if anyone else had this happen.

Shows error 24 on my dishwasher Bosch

Possible causes for the E24 error code:
The drain hose could be blocked
The dishwasher filter may need to be cleaned
Brand new garbage disposal. The installer may have forgotten to remove the 'knockout' plug
After fixing the problem, reset the dishwasher according to the owner's manual

Bosch SHX99A15UC went completely dead. Circuit

no it wouldn't, this is a common failure on bosch dishwashers. you have either a bad control or a bad touch membrane. parts are fairly expensive and only way to know for sure is to replace one. I usually find that the control panel is at fault most times

Bosch dishwasher shx55m with bottom tub full of water

The dishwasher really shouldn't pass any particles near large enough to clog the drain hose. It sounds more like a mechanical issue. Check the circuit breaker to make sure it's not tripped. See if you can hit a cancel button or something to make it drain. Try to run another cycle. If the computer is stuck or acting funny, trying cutting the power for a while, holding down a stop/reset/cancel button, or running a cycle that you don't usually run. I had this kitchenaid that would randomly refuse the normal wash cycle, but would run fine when you ran rinse only or something, then regular wash and everything would be fine again too. If the line somehow is clogged, there's a good chance it's right where the hose connects to the disposal or drain pipe.

Had a clogged garbage disposal, once fixed, the dishwasher stopped getting water to it, sounds like its running, but no water coming to the cycle, Its a bosch dishwasher, motor seems to run, drain...

if you didn't do the disposal fix yourself then there's a possibility that whoever did it closed the water valve to the dishwasher although there is no good reason to do that...

I would check the valve then make sure that a severe kink wasn't put in the water supply line while working on the disposal...

one other cause could be a relay switch stuck in the closed position which will not allow water to the unit and would of course be a total coincidence and unrelated to your disposal repair.

My Bosch dishwasher Model SHE44C02UC just went completley dead while washing. My wife and I were in the living room and heard a ''pop'' and went to investigate. We discovered the dishwasher was completely...

Well done on confirming that the outlet is not the problem. This problem will not be able to fixed by the owner and a service call is the next step. (unless you want to dig into the problem, which could easily be a failed pump motor which took out the controller board.
