Send it in for service. If it was purchased in the USA and you sent in the Nikon extended service contract that comes free in every Nikon USA lens then you have a 5 year warranty that covers most parts and defects. The warranty does not cover abuse, dropping sand damage etc.

18-70 AF-S lens in D200 kit does not autofocus, especially when camera is held in vertical position....is camera reset an option to correct this, as is suggested for the 18-200 VR lens?

Make sure the camera is set to auto focus and your metering is correct
Make sure the lens is set to A and not M
Make sure your body (the little switch on the front) is set to A and not M
camera reset may help, but may not
to do this turn off the camera and hold the two buttons with the green dots on them and turn on the camera

When I use camera in vr option I hear when I shooting in the end of shooting a litle clikc in camera and the screen pictures a little jumping on the screener.is it a normal or not. When I switch off vr...

The Vibration reduction system does move components inside the lens. If it makes a lot of noise you are better off turning it off and using a tripod. The VR system will move lens components to counteract your motion. The steadier you hold it (camera and lens) the less noise. On small Coolpix cameras the sensor is moved to counteract the vibration while it is hand held.

Lens has lost ability to autofocus.

Nikon guarantees 5 year warranty to original purchaser. If your camera functions with another AF-S lens, then the problem lies with the 18-200mm lens. The AF motor unit needs replacement. Nikon should be able to repair the lens under warranty.
Make a copy of your receipt and go Nikon website to start repair service.

Sigma lens on Sony makes grinding noise, AF no longer works

The problem you are encountering is with the screw head interface between the lens and the camera body. They just are not locking together properly. Sounds like you need to send her in for repair.

55-200mm VR focus noise

The lenses have a focus motor built into them.when the camera is set to auto focus, once you press the shutter button, the motor activates to set the correct focus. VR is for motion stabilization. Turn off AF on lenses and camera and see if noise stops.

You can take pictures ( without VR function ) by starting your camera from play button then switch to photo !
Lens error appear after a shock . VR mechanism have piezo actuators glued with epoxy resin together with an carbon fiber stick . After a shock applied this epoxy broke so no vibration from piezo is transmitted to slider . It is possible to repair ( cheap , only epoxy and izopropilic alcohol needed ) but skills are necessary
