Re: koss dvd player kd305a plays black and white.
Generally, the main causes of the problem are included in the following aspects.
1. The incorrect TV and DVD broadcast formats.
2. Incorrect cabling.
3. The backlight of the TV screen is abnormal or broken.
4. Objective factors, like whether and connection signal.

Take a look at the inputs on the DVD player. If it has an AUX input (looks like a headphone jack) you may be able to connect with a male to male 3.5mm headphone jack. Otherwise you could use a converter that goes from headphone jack to RCA (Red, White, Yellow)
Go to the "Bose" menu screen viewing on your TV (make sure no dvd is in the player) Go to your Video controls and check your output, chances are, if your using the component output your player is set to "S-Video". Should fix the problem. Hope this helps. If it's still not viewing correctly, post a comment and I will help you some more
if the dvds are in the correct code for your player and they still can not be read try cleaning them with a little bit of white spirit then drying them off gently with a dry cotton cloth. You can also try using a cd lense cleaner for the dvd itself to clean the lease to see if this makes a difference. Other to that it sounds like the dvds are either in the wrong region or maybe are copied versions which some dvd players will not read.
Hi, I'm not sure if this will fix your problem, but I had the same problem with a Koss KS3102 model. I had switched from NTSC to PAL from the menu screen by mistake and was no longer able to view the menu. I went to justanswer.com and the problem is now fixed. I had to pay, but it was well worth it, so if you can tell me more about your problem I will try to assist you if it is the same as mines. [email protected]
