Arch on top and bottom of screen

My Philips 55PW9363 55 inch rear projection TV has an arch along the bottom and the top of the screen. I adjusted the convergence and it helped with the colors but the arches are still there. When a news channel is on with the ticker running along the bottom you could really see the arch. It's also really noticeable at the top when the program description box is visible. How do I fix it?

You may have a convergence problem.  Here are some of the most common symptoms.
Screen looks 3D
One or more colors can't be adjusted when when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed in but stationary.

Solution:

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors.  Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kit for your exact model. The kit inlcludes a photo instruction guide, original Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors,  etc. Everything you need to fix it yourself.

I read that these sets have a problem with the yokes on tubes sliding down some- there for causing this problem make sure yokes are all the way up on neck of picture tubes, this may fix your problem!

Convergence on Projection screen

More than likely the repair company used cheap chips when they did the repair. The cheap ones fail real quick. Goto the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have built a kit that you can do yourself. It includes name brand chips and a photo instuction guide.

Arch on top and bottom of tv

You can try adjusting the convergence manually, but this is not a good symptom for your TV to have.

Re Degaussing

Now Degaussing and convergence are two different things, if you say its degaussing then you should have just a color differential in a certain area, meaning the color should not be arched, everything that passes through should pass throu only with the changing of color. Now if its a convergence the the color may lift upward in an arch, likely separated from the other colors, Red, Blue,or Green. So now which do you think you have? Deguassing usually give you a highish green color or yellow
