This is either the door sensing switch (most likely) or a bad membrane switch [start switch] (that's what Panasonic calls it) on the touch pad. The contacts on the door sensing switch can be slightly contaminated and not read "zero ohms" to the control PCB. The control board thinks that the door is open and it will not allow the cook cycle to start.

You have a faulty door switch, the unit is not supposed to come on when the door is opened only the light.This unit may require servicing as the control board may also be at fault.
This is a danger, cease using it immediately as scatter radiation is emiited in this situation. The door lock needs replacing to bring it back to safety regulation standard.
Take it for repair, or replace it with a new unit.
Check to make sure one of the plastic hooks on the door was not broken off. If both door hook latches are functional then the most likely cause of your problem is one of the latch switches located behind the control panel. These switches will fail if the oven user opens the door frequently BEFORE the cook cycle ends. Always push STOP/RESET before opening any microwave oven door.
It's likely that it's only the fan and light coming on when the door is open. But even so, it's not normal, and it should be fixed.
It's not a reset issue.
It's likely a broken door switch mount caused by a door slam or by inferior material, or a defective door switch caused by opening the door while the oven is cooking instead of hitting the "STOP" key first.
You can do a Google search for my text file "doorsw.txt" which will give safety info and help in checking the door switches.
Also, the plastic pieces on which the door switches are mounted should be checked, as well as the door alignment.
It's usually the upper door switch or mount that causes this, but occasioanlly it's a problem on the control circuit board.
