If after 30 seconds the control does not detect water entering machine, the valves will be turned off and the error code will be displayed.
OR
If the control has turned the water valves on, and after 8 minutes, the flow sensor has detected 10.5 gallons of water passing through it, but has not detected the pressure switch trip, the valves will be turned off, and the error code will flash.

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

Possible Causes / Procedure

• If there is no water in the unit:
- Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way.
- Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves.
- Verify inlet valve operation.

• If there is water in the unit:
- Verify drain pump operation.
- Verify that the pressure switch hose is in good condition and properly connected to tub
and pressure switch.

1. Verify there is not a siphon problem.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Verify wire harness connections to inlet valves, pressure switch, drain pump, flow meter,
and Central Control Unit (CCU).
4. Check all hoses for possible leaks.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Verify pressure switch operation.
7. Verify flow meter operation by blowing air through the part and measuring the resistance.
8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any cycle.

Replace failed component.

Kenmore top load washer leak out the bottom

In order to accurately determine where the source of the leak is coming from, you need to remove the exterior case on Kenmore top loaders. The following link explains how to access the washer interior components and how to inspect for leaks:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576648-washer_leak__top_loader

In the majority of the cases, the source of leaks on a top loader comes from the drain pump or drain hoses. There is a follow-on link inlcuded that explains how to replace the pump if it is damaged. These pumps are not servicebale and must be replaced if leaking.

Replacement parts (if required) can be ordered from any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
appliancepartspros.com
pcappliancerepair.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites are reputable and offer great service with competitive pricing. The first three sites I listed also inlcude helpful exploded view parts diagrams to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need.

If you have any questions, please post back with your complete MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this helps you.

I have a top loading model. It is leaking water.

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

See the section for the basket and tub assembly's

I'd pull the cabinet in order to get to the hoses going to and from the pump first.

See the following:

http://www.american-appliance.com/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsPath=16&newsdesk_id=131

If the hoses are fine, check the shaft from the motor to the pump and check inside the pump to make sure the inlet and outlet aren't blocked.

I'd also check the gaskets at the bottom of the tub.

If you're reasonably mechanically inclined, these are easy fixes.

If you have to get to the gaskets at the bottom of the tub, see the following for how to remove the agitators, pump, motor, transmission, spin tube and basket.

(It sounds a bit complicated but it's not really that difficult.)

You don't have to buy a special spanner wrench to remove the spanner nut. I've used a short 10" pipe wrench hooked over one of the tabs on the spanner nut, tap the handle with a hammer and it should loosen.

Also, don't directly hit the drive block with a hammer. Use a short piece of wood under the drive block and tap up on the wood.

As an aside, see the following Whirlpool Service Manual for top load direct drive washers.

https://secured.whirlpool.com/Service/SrvTechAdm.nsf/2cd44500d572193285256a45004fd9d6/f7e2147fa98b28cf85257122007475cb/$FILE/L-55.pdf

Depending on the problem (hoses or gasket) it's certainly less expensive than calling in a repair person.

I don't know how to remove back of this machine to get to the cylanoid that is leaking or how to replace it. Water sprays small amount from where hose is connected to the cylanoid

on some kenmore washers the rear is not removable.. you will have to be more specific in what machine we are dealing with...
If it is a toploader with a model # that begins with 110, the whle cabnet comes off and the rear panel is the only thing left. Kenmore frontloader, the rear panels do come off... remove the screws and voila (on frontloaders, the top will need to be removed before the rear can be removed... in most situations.)

Leaking Model 80

Hello Friend, Yes, I'd say your pump is leaking. Sometimes these pumps wear out a circular shaped hole in the front of pump housing but most of the time the rear seal on the pump goes bad and leaks from there. It's easy to replace the pump on your machine. First, remove the two screws that hold control panel in place and tilt back exposing the two metal clips that hold the cabinet in place. You will see some wires plugged into the cabinet, just unplug them. There are two clips, one on each side. Just pop these clips off and lift cabinet slightly from back and tilt forward. At this point you will be able to completely remove the cabinet. Once you have cabinet removed just set it aside. Now, you can easily remove the pump by snapping off the two spring clips. The pump will slide right off the motor shaft. Please rate my help. Happy to help, Tim.

Kenmore washer model 70 leaking

More than likely the pump. Very easy fix. To keep from being redundant I prepared a page on direct drive coupling removal and replacement. The pump must be removed to fix this item therefore it pertains to your problem. Plus you can watch for leaks better with the cabinet removed. To read click HERE.

Open up behind, after taking off the wall power plug. Check to see it the hose from underneath the tub is loose, tighten. Or replace hose if damaged.
