Check the settings on the projector for the input video signal. There should be a couple of options: RBG and YPrPb. You are sending an RGB signal from the laptop and the projector is expecting YPrPb. Change the setting on the projector to RGB and the problem should be fixed.

What causing the dominate red screen to display on my Hitachi Rear Projection, MDL 60v500a.

If it's red everywhere, even the white areas, the first thing to check would be the color wheel. It's probably not turning and the red section is the part presently in the projector beam. The color wheel is a disk with red, green and blue sectors. Failure modes include bad bearings in the wheel or its motor, a break in the drive mechanism (belt? I haven't seen the inside of this model), motor burnout or motor drive electronics.

Unplug the set, remove the back and find the color wheel. Try turning it gently by hand to see if it is binding. Plug the set in, turn it on and watch the wheel to see if it spins. Caution: unless you are familiar with electronics work, avoid contact with any part of the inside of the set, especially around the lamp, while it is powered. You could get burned by hot components around the lamp or electrically shocked. At this point, all you are doing is observing.

I,ve got a red spot in the screen i replaced the bulp but stil have the problem

it is most likely a burned polarizing filter. There is a polarizing filter on the blue light channel and another on the red channel. When black, or other dark colours are displayed, the red polarizing filter is supposed to block ALL of the red light being projecter. If the filter is burned, some light slips through and creates a red tinge on the projected image. If the red tinge only appears on dark images, but is absent when the images is completely white, a damaged filter is likely the problem.

Seems its hard to buy them. Best bet is probably buying a broken projector from ebay and stealing the filters out of it.

IXD 420U projector takes a long time to project and has pink ima

If possible, try to replace the VGA cable between the projector and the computer. A bent or broken pin, or a damaged wire, can prevent the blue or green (or both) portions of the picture from being displayed. The result is a reddish/pinkish picture.

As for the long time to project an image, this could be an extended warm-up time. How old is the bulb in the projector? Does the projector have an option to display the hours used and/or remaining on the bulb? Bulbs do have a finite life, and when they near the end of their service life, they can become more difficult to start.

Hope this helps!

Need to see display on both laptop and projector

On most laptops pressing the Fn key plus the F5 key (in your model laptop) several times will cause the video to switch to different options
In the various laptops I've used with data projectors it is the same.
If you plug in the data projector and power it up then the laptop then the Windows image will be on the data projector (provided the laptop's screen resolution matches the data projector).
To toggle between the data projector only, the LCD screen, then LCD screen plus data projector, and or back through this sequence, just press the Fn key and the F5 key to get the displays you want .

LP540 Infocus PRojector

first try a new vga cable. if the problem persists, go into the menu and find the settings to that computer output. chances are it's on component. set it to vga. if that doesn't help, reset back to factory default, then set it to vga.

-toggle the laptop display using the FN keys and F5 I believe. -lower laptop resolution to 800 x 600 -look in laptop display properties for lcd or external display settings, see if it (external crt) has to be enabled on the laptop first.
