My acer aspire 5920 will not power on!

My acer aspire 5920 will not power on with battery or AC. When pressing the power button, I get a amber light flashing a couple times then nothing? Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Thanks for using FixYa. You will need to reset the Laptop if it is not starting up. Follow the procedure as under to reset it---

Remove all connections to and from the laptop. Now remove the battery and press and hold the power on button for 2 minutes. Release the power on button. Slip in the battery pack. Plug in the power to the laptop and to the wall. Please do not plug in any other devices and now try the Laptop powering it on to resolve the issue.

    Is this the ONLY comment you can come up with?? This doesn't work all the time it might work on some but not all. What else can you come up with than that??

One suggestion I could offer is to unplug the laptop and remove the battery, then proceed to hold the power button for 20 seconds and then attempt to boot the laptop again.

Accer aspire 5920 laptop no power
try to remove cables and battery , then press and hold the power button for 8 secs. Reinsert the cables and battery back, then turn it on. If no power, then that propels you to contact Acer for repair because power supply won't work on your laptop..

Have an Acer Aspire 5920-6470 that is dead. The power supply seems OK with the green light on and ~19 VDC on the DVM when checked. no power light on computer when plugged in, with or without battery. ...
Try remove the battery and unplug it from the AC. Hold down the power button for 35-45secs. plug AC back and see if you can power it back on. If not, the motherboard is shot.

My Acer 5920 Laptop is about a yr old. It is not switching on. The power light blinks for about 5 secoonds and then nothing happens. Please let me know if anybody has a solution to this.
Try removeing the battery, memory and Hard drive. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
Re-install and reseat memory Harddrive and battery.
Try powering up the unit without the battery and any external devices.

Your motherboard is probably shorting out your A/C adapter, you may need a new motherboard. With a Dell, the A/C adapter light will be green when plugged into the wall but as soon as you plug it into the PC the green light goes off. Which means that the Motherboard is shorting out the A/C adapter...

try pressing on fn+f5 or fn+f6 a couple of times each. Maybe the screen got switched to projector status by mistake.

this probleme is common among acer 5920, the probleme is with the motherboard that's of bad quality and workmanship. Acer should be ashamed to sell a PC with a faulty motherboard and should compensate all 5920's owners or replace with a better motherboard. 1000's if not millions are having the same probleme wich tell to anyone with a brain that Acer 5920 is a scam. good luck. x
