Hello,
Your Cruzer Micro has what ie called U3 Smart technology. It has a small OS that can run application from the Cruzer. That OS appears in Windows explorer with the icon of a CD. In addition to that you have a regular mass storage drive.
If you click on the CD the LaunchPad of the drive launches. This allows you to run installed applications (Skype, and others), explore the drive. It is a mini operating system.
I think tou should launch it and learn how to take advantage of its functionalities. You can install Firefox, OpenOffice.org, and other software (free and otherwise), and run the software from you Cruzer. All is kept on the Cruzer: files, bookmarks, browsing history. When you leave a public computer you take all your information with you.
You can also secure it with a password, in case you lose it.
I encourage you to discover the U3 Smart technology.

Hope that this satisfies your curiosity.

Music has become more mobile than ever before, as numerous devices can store and play music on-the-go. Companies have developed car audio decks that incorporate USB ports in the faceplate. This allows flash drives to be plugged into the deck, and music on the drive to be played. Flash drive format issues are minimal, considering nearly all flash drives are formatted in the FAT32 file system by default. FAT32 is readable by any operating system, or stereo deck with a USB por

Determine if the stereo deck in the vehicle is capable of playing music off a USB flash drive. Read the stereo deck user's manual, or inspect the deck faceplate for a USB port. Plug a USB flash drive into an available USB port on a computer. Check the drive to make sure there is enough available space for music files. Using Windows, double-click the desktop icon labeled "My Computer." Right-click the flash drive icon, and select "Properties." Capacity will be shown. Using Mac, click the flash drive icon once it appears on the desktop. Click "File" in the top menu bar, then click "Get Info." A dialog box appears, and capacity is listed. Drag and drop any desired music files onto the flash drive. Be sure the files are in .mp3 format. Although some stereo decks are capable of playing other music types, the .mp3 extension is universal and all decks will play it. Spend a short amount of time organizing the files into folders. Organize by genre, artist, or create mixed playlists. Selecting music while driving will become much less distracting. Close the drive window, and safely eject the flash drive from the computer. Plug the flash drive into the stereo deck of the vehicle. Select the USB port as the music source, via the stereo deck. Read the manufacturer's user manual if unsure of how to change the source. Adjust the volume, listen, and enjoy. Hope this helps.

I have a sandisk Cruze flash drive. How do i add video files to it?

plug the flash drive in, wait for the computer to read and add it to the list of devices..takes a few moments. It may even pop up asking what do you want to do, in your case you can click on view files. This will open a window which will show you files and folders already on the drive. These flash drives will act just like any other hard drive, you can add folders, delete folders etc. Find the files you want and just copy and paste or if you dont need to ciopy, you can simply drag and drop (which is left click and hold the button down on the file you want to transfer, drag the mouse over to the flash drive folder of your choice and let the button go when the folder highlites.

How do can you burn a music cd

First the best thing to do is put all your music from you CD's from to your computer, by using windows media player and clicking on RIP CD and press start RIP. Once you rip all files to Hard Drive use your burner program. I use Nero, but most burning programs using similar fuctionality. If you only want to copy entire CD instead, just go to burning program and select COPY CD. Follow on screen instruction.

Depending on your burner program you can burn audio CD's quite easily. I myself use Nero and can guide you through the process.
Depending on how you have your desktop setup, I click on me Nero Smart Start. If you don't, then see if you have it under program files and run it.

FOR FULL PROOF RECORDINGS USE NERO AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS:
  • Once started move mouse pointer on to the audio symbol
  • Click on Audio CD or MP3 CD (Audio Cd for all stereo systems with Cd player and mp3 for only mp3 players. MP3 hold files of music in megabytes and Audio is in minutes and can only fit 89mins on disk)
  • Now a separate box opens up and click on add
  • Another window will open. Need to select My Documents on left hand side in blue writing (That's where Media player stores music)
  • Then double click on My Music Folder under the name category.
  • Then double click on any of the folders of music for example I might have a folder of Mariah Carey, Metalicca and so on and click again on another directory(separate directories if more the one cd if some band here). In each folder will be the music files or names
  • Onec chosen folder click on each individual song and press add, you can also preview each track if no name and only track number
  • You can also click the Green arrow in the right top hand corner to go back to previous folders and click on the ones require to select other songs from other folders.
  • Click on Finish, check if you need more music and add if so, if you have too many deltee them
  • Then click next
  • Make sure blank CD-R 80mins is in drive
  • Select the writing speed and set to 16 speed, as some CD-Players are older and can't read above 16x
  • You can select also How many copies if you like
  • Click on Burn and wait till complete, about 10mins to burn.
  • Once complete click on ok to successful burn and close down Nero. CD will spit out and play CD in a CD player
  • one perfect recording done!

Weird files showing up in the music folder / music not uploading

I am having the same problem. I have tried everything short of a BIG HAMMER. It seems like there should be a way to reformat the thing back to the original out of the box state. I've removed the battery, tried locked file delete utilities, dos commands, you name it, and no change. Next step will be to call Sandisk I guess. What a pain in the keister! Any help appreciated here too!
