The 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee has 3 different fuse boxes: ... Jeep Grand Cherokee fuse box diagrams change across years, pick the right year of your vehicle:.
the manual tells you how.
buy the Jeep radio adaptor kit yet.
go to walfart, electric dept, cars.
see those kits.? the have jeep connector that makes this easy.
as do all autostores in usa. all have.
unlike a pc or the like
car radios; (media centers or headends) are very poorly documented.(read the manual and cry ,right:>?)
why not just try it and tell the world.!
Take my new LG TV for instance. i can plug in any , external HDD or memory stick with vast types of media files and they all work.
with limits. (my 1 year older LG in bedroom, nada, zip ,)
ive never attempted to do that with a CD, but this would be worse case., by limits, most USB devices (radios) have file structure limits. some only allow 1 directory and all files in this folder or root.
others have 1 level deep rules , or file name rules.
try to understand your pc has vast complex disk operating systems
and the radio does not, its not even and OS. at all.
so is very very restrictive, in all cases and less on very very newer systems like smart TV,.
best plan, i so ask jeep, ask them for the specs on your unstated
radio, on my 2008 , it had 5 head end choices, new.
so each varies by that.
You could try and Delete the music on the hard drive and reinstal it. Otherwise they have had a lot of updates on the radio. Your dealer would have to do them. I had one that would take minutes to load. Had a Chysler dealer update my radio and everything worked great and fast.
sounds like they may have forgotten to take out transit plugs from radio which holds cd mechanism in place when shipping unless you got a new radio thats a dud? but that may also mean dealer didnt check operation of new unit after replacement if replaced which is what usually needs to be done when this error message comes up
