I want to connect my mp3 player to either my soundbar or flat screen. How would i go about that?

Hi

You don't identify your make and model of MP3 player or your Flat Screen TV.

Some types of MP3 player can dock into a device (MP3 Dock) that has audio output connectors that can connect to either your TV or your Sound Bar with either standard stereo phono or HDMI cables (your TV has HDMI capability).

If no dock is available for your MP3 player, a stereo phono to 1/4 inch stereo jack will connect either audio Out or Headphone Socket to your TV or Soundbar. The sound quality may not be the best with this type of connection but it should be adequate.

A retailer like Radioshack, Best Buy, PC World, Maplin, etc. (depending on where you are) should stock these MP3 Docks and cables.

Hope this helps.

Trying to figure out how to connect the cords for the stereo and woofer i seem to be missing one and can't find the manual

To connect your MP3 player to a stereo simply connect it via a cable that will fit your headphone jack on the MP3 player and splits into two larger prongs on the other. This will allow you to plug into the two ports on the back of your stereo. Bestbuy sells the Hosa Technology 3.5mm TRS-to-Dual RCA Cable for $7.99.

Once you connect the MP3 to the stereo make sure that the settings are also correct. Generally you have to push a button or selector to choose if you want to listen to the CD player, radio, or cassette on your stereo. In the same fashion you need to select Aux In or it may be listed Line In.

Playing MP3 Via AUX comes out crackly

Try turning the volume lowwer on the mp3 player and higher on the head unit. The radio is trying to amplify an amplified sound which is why you are getting distortion.

How can I connect my sony mp3 player to pioneer deh-5800mp in dash stereo

Hello nmfsc,

I am not specifically familiar with the DEH-5800MP but many car stereos these days have an input jack on the faceplate (or under it) which is used to connect the stereo to a MP3 player using a special cable which is available from the manufacturer.

If your stereo doesn't have an input jack, there are other options. One popular method is to connect a wireless transmitter like this one to your MP3 player set to an empty FM radio frequency which you can receive using your car stereo

One of the many technical name for the special cable is RCA Male Stereo to male baby phone stereo, the common name is MP3 to RCA and it is similar to the function and look of a Cygnett Groove Transit - MP3 Phone to R...

Hope that this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turned out or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
