It wants you to format the card in the camera. This will erase the card so download any pictures on it first using a card reader if necessart.
Without a card in the camera, go into the menu and scroll to "reset" and follow the on-screen instructions. This will return your camera to factory default settings which may allow you to format the card.
The only suggestion left...go to the support section of the Panasonic web site and e-mail one of their tech persons with your problem. Be sure to list everything you've tried so far. I'm sure they have a solution to this problem.

I know this is a few months old, but you tried different memory cards right? just to make absolute sure the problem wasnt something to do with that SD card.

Thanks for the help but that did'nt do the trick.
It will not let me access any options when I insert the memory card. It as though inserting any memory freezes the system. I go the the format option before inserting the card and still nothing, the whole thing just displays "MEMORY CARD ERROR, PLEASE CHECK THE CARD" with no memory card all works fine, minus the fact that I cant save anything. Is there any other suggestions?
Thanks for any help!
