Water accumulated in drum while machine off and door open.

I hadn't used the machine for 1 day. Left the door open to air out the drum. Woke up this morning to a puddle of water on the floor and the drum full of water. No buttons were pushed and the door was always open so I am not sure how the water got in there.

Westinghouse front load washer GHW9150PW1 fills with water when it is not in use and floods my garage. The door is left open when not in use and the water flows over the door and onto the floor.

Check the outlet pipe is not syphoning.
If it is up above the drum height and free to the air, check for a foreign body, sand etc, in the water inlet solenoid.

Samsung fully automatic washer-dryer machine model : WD-B1255 i cant open its door and it keeps giving me "5 and a 3 but looking in the opposite direction" what can i do the clothes is stuck in their

The code your machine indicates means that the debris filter needs cleaning. To do this remove the plug from the electrical supply. Using a coin open the filter cover door at the far bottom right hand side of the machine. You should see an orange coloured plastic tab, pull this forward to open the door.
Warning: If the drum still has water above the door seal it will pour out when you open the door. If this is the case there is an emergency drain tube to the right of the orange tab, pull on the tube and place it in a shallow container. Then remove the rubber plug and drain the water from the machine.
When the machine has been fully drained open the debris filter cover (large circular plastic plug to the left of the orange tab) and remove any soiling/rubbish that may have accumulated there. When complete push the drain tube (with rubber plug back in position) back into the machine, replace the debris filter cover, and then pop the filter cover door back in place. Hope this helps.
P.S Removing the plug from the power supply also resets any error codes so that should remove the error you had as well as being a safety precaution.

Why do my clothes have horrible smell

Front loader? Welcome to our hell.

Seriously though - it's not that bad. You need to have a different mindset with these machines. First, throw away your old detergent. You've GOT to use the type with the HE logo on it. Really. There is a difference.

Wipe out any standing water in the gasket between the drum and door opening after the last load of the day.

Leave the door open slightly to allow air to flow around between washes.

Open the other doors for detergent, bleach, etc. between laundry days.

Don't use liquid fabric softener. Use dryer sheets instead.

Run a small, empty load with hot water and bleach ONLY. No clothes, as your last load for the days that you do laundry.

Use a product like Affresh, once or twice to rid the washer of existing smells. You can use Affresh any time the smells start coming back - and follow the suggestions above.

How to get rid of the smelly mold smell in my front loader?

The following link explains some of the common causes of front loader washer mildew/odor problems and some preventive measures you can try to keep the problem from coming back:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608512-getting_rid_front_loader_mildew_odor

It is strongly recommended that you leave the door OPEN between uses to allow the drum to air out. There is some residual water that remains in the drain line and pump after each wash. Since this is the low point of the drainage system, some water will always be there. This is NORMAL. Since these washers have an air tight seal on the door, leaving it shut can cause the water to begin to sour.

NOTE: This does not mean leaving the door open will make the water evaporate. It allows air into the drum to keep it from becoming stagnant.

Check the drain door bellow and drain pump for any debris that may have accumulated and can begin to cause odors. To check and clean the drain pump reservoir, follow the steps in this next link:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574284-checking_the_drain_pump_on_a_front_loade

Once you have checked the drain pump and door area, make sure you are using the proper detergent. Using the wrong type of detergent, or the improper amount, can cause soap scum build up which causes odors.

You can also attempt to run a clean cycle periodically to keep the tub and lines from developing any mildew or odor problems. This is accomplished by running the washer on the hottest setting while empty, using nothhng but a small amount of bleach.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

Bad smell when starting a new load the next day

These are some good tips. However, leaving the door open between loads decreases odor by drying out the residue which can make the residue difficult to remove. Also, the residue will affect the next wash load.

The only way to have a truly clean washer is to remove the odor-causing residue. The "splash area" just 3-5 inches above the normal waterline is where the worst buildup is. To clean the whole tub use a washer cleaner that is able to be used with clothing in the washer. The added laundry will raise the water level to include the splash area.
There are many washer cleaners on the market. Some are all natural and can be used with laundry to safely clean inside the washing machine. After you get rid of odor you'll need to change your washing habits so it doesn't come back.

Samsung Front Load washer has odour

IMPORTANT: Read thoroughly. DO NOT add detergent or other laundry products to this cycle.
1. Remove all items from the washer.
2. Open the dispenser drawer and 2/3 cup (160 mL) of liquid chlorine bleach to the bleach compartment. DO NOT use more than 2/3 cup (160mL) of bleach per cycle as this will lead to product damage.
3. Close the washer door and dispenser drawer.
4. Select the Clean Washer cycle or a full wash cotton 104 F wash (40 C). DO NOT use any higher temperature as this will cause unnecessary fumes
5. Press Start and allow cycle to complete.
6. If the bad odour persists, repeat the procedure 1 or 2 more times. This may be necessary if this is the first time you have run this cycle.
7. After the cycle is complete, leave the door open slightly to allow ventilation and drying of the washer interior.
8. Repeat the cleaning procedure monthly.
To maintain the washer freshness:
1. Use only HE High Efficiency detergent.
2. Leave the door open after each cycle to for better ventilation and drying of the washer interior.
3. Use warm / hot water in your machine unless the fabric you are washing requires cold.
4. Use the correct amount of fabric softener.
5. If your laundry room is damp, use a dehumidifier.
6. Clean the door seal of visible residue.

Water Building up Inside Front Load Washer when not in use

Okay, it is normal to hear water sloshing around inside the wash tub when the washer is not in use. A small amount of residual water remains in the wash tub under the wash basket (stainless steel tub), and resides in the drain line and drain pump. That's why it is important to keep the door slightly open when not in use to allow the drum to air out. The water will not evaporate, but it will help reduce the build up of odors, mold and mildew.

Now...if your washer is slowly accumulating water in the wash basket area over time, your water inlet valve is probably starting to fail. The leak can be very subtle and you may not notice it. The water only comes from one source - the fill valve via the dispenser. If you wish to replace it, the part is available at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and the part you need can be found under the "Dispenser" heading as item number 1. The replacement is very simple if you follow these steps:

1. UNPLUG the washer and turn off water supply.
2. Remove both fill hoses.
3. Remove the top panel of the washer by removing the screws that hold the panel in place in the rear of the washer.
4. Slide the top panel back, then it lifts off.
5. The water inlet valve is located in the left rear of the washer as facing from the front.
6. Remove the rubber hose leading from the valve and the electrical connections.
7. Remove the mounting screws holding the inlet valve in place.
8. Re-install new valve using these steps inthe reverse order given.

I hope you find this information helpful. If you have further questions, please post back and let me know.
