There are several ways in which you can do this.

The first way. If your cable box has two scarts one will be label as tv and the other vcr or something similar. connect your Dvd player via scart to the vcr scart on the back of your cable box. then connect a scart from the cable box to the back of the TV.
That would be you all sorted. when you turn your DVD player on this should override your cable and display the dvd screen.

Second way. If your cable box has not got two scart ports on the back of it. Then you would have to connect both to the back of your TV. If there are not two scart ports at the back of your TV then you can purchase a scart lead splitter. I would imagine the Cheapest you could find would be on Ebay or something similar.

Hope this Helped Clarify things for you.
If this has then please leave a thumbs up

Cheers Little Dish Fitter.

What type of cable connection are you using from the DVD player to the TV? HDMI, component, RCA, optical? If it's component (red, white, red, green, blue) make sure that you don't have the red video cable switched with the red audio cable. If you're using HDMI or optical make sure your TV setting is set to the particular audio source. If these steps are too simplified, I would check the easy stuff first such as the connections themselves. Let me know what you find out and then we'll proceed further.

How do we connect a DVD to a TV

Hi, Go to Radio shack store and get a cable signal splitter. Its a small device that splits 1 line into 2 or 3, so that you can run more players or recorders on 1 line in. See the guys there for more options.

The video of my jvc dvd player won't display on my tv screen or the video is not working but the audio is ok.

Connect the yellow connector on the DVD player to the yellow connector on the TV. Refer to the TV manual and select the video input. Refer to DVD manual and choose interlace on the DVD player. Let me know if this helps

JVC XV-SA602 player - I just get red and blue wavy lines on my TV, but can get audio. I've checked my component video connections and they seem fine, but cannot get video or even the menu to come up on TV....

I found the problem, or at least the solution. I set the switch on the back of the DVD to "remote" and reset the TV settings on the remote (although they had not changed and were still OK). With the TV/Video switch set to "colorstream", I finally got the video from the DVD. This was odd, because my TV says it does not accept progressive scan and my settings have always been with the switch on 480i on the DVD. The only change has been a added cable TV DVR box capable of HD (although TV is not HD). Does not seem like that should affect things since the cable box just outputs to the TV. But, at any rate, this regained our picture.

DVD is hook up and no picture on the TV.

You have to make sure that the RCA cables are properly connected to the TV. Check the TV/Mode if it's set to AV1 (Audio/Video1) or AV2. You may check the TV remote to set it to AV1 or AV2.

From the DVD, the cable should be connected to OUT. And on the TV...video and audio should be connected to IN.

I cannot get dvd feed to tv when I connect my jvc

I work for a cable company that has this exact cable box. in our system we choose not to actvate this option. cable companys go to motorola and give them the exact features that they want the box to perform. most cable companys won't have that feature added mainly 1 due to cost and 2 if you have that type of box it probably has on demand available, so they want you to rent a movie then to play it on dvd.in my opinion straight to the tv is better anyway, the less devices you run the video signal through the less problems you will have . all those ports on the back of the box is standard for the 6412, but are not always actvated.

what is a jvc xv player? how about if u connect ur tv to a cable program, does it give u the same problem? if not, ur xv player is not compatible with ur tv or tv needs to configure setting and also that means ur tv is ok. if yes, there is a problem in the color circuit of ur tv. have it check by a serviceman. but if its not economical to do it, just buy a new one.
